Fluid retention: Water vs Air pumping

Fluid retention: Water vs Air pumping

So I used to water pump but today and yesterday, just to change things, air pumped.
Same HG, same pump, same time, just no water. When air pumping, I get MUCH less edema. I guess actually .25” less, to be precise (I conclude that because water pumping I’m 5.5” and I know there’s fluid, air pumping I’m 5.25” with next to no fluid).

Anyone got an idea why? I thought edema is due to pressure, but seems the medium makes a difference?

Hey,

I do air and water pumping and definitely noticed the same thing as you, with water you do get fluid build up faster but I have no idea why.
The only explanation I could think of is that the skin gets looser in the water due to more heat.

Start : BPEL 6.1 MSEG 4.6

Now : BPEL 7.8 MSEG 5.4

My experience was the same.

I have a Mr Fantastic water pump and an air pump as well. Initially I found I got significantly more fluid retention with the water pump. However after adopting silicone sleeve pumping I get very little obvious fluid retention apart from a bit at the front edge of my foreskin which soon subsides. I use hot water and an electric heat pad. With water pumping I find I can do much longer session times with the dynamic pumping approach I use. I pump in the range 3 - 12” Hg cycling every 2 mins or less.

I also got blisters with water pumping until I used baby powder on my glans under a condom or previously a silicone toe protector. I believe water on the glans skin seems to promote blisters whereas the drying action of the corn starch in the baby powder acts as a preventative. Not sure why the water should make edemas more prevalent but it could be moisture absorbed through the skin.

Austfred

So could somebody explain to me what all that is? Like I’ve said before I’m a newbie here and to PE and I too notice that when I pump in the shower I’m bigger than when I’m pumping with just air but I hear these terms water retention and edema and a few other terms. But what does that actually mean? And how did these fluids get in there versus air pumping?
