<Vitamin K2 MK7> Increased Libido and EQ

I wanted to make a post to share my experience and research on vitamin K2 for those who are still not very aware of this nutrient and the huge impact it plays on health and well being. The information has been a blessing to me so I didn’t want to keep it to myself.

Vitamin K2 is a critically important nutrient discovered not too long ago and information concerning it still is not being widely shared. K2 is not the same thing as K1 that you find in a lot of healthy vegetables however the body is able to gain some K2 from K1 by bacteria in your system converting it.

Why it’s important to share this information is because modern people are reported to be deficient in this nutrient for a number of reasons so the chances that you can benefit from it are quite high.

While bacteria in our system can make some K2 for us it is thought for some reasons humans are no longer adequately doing this, possibly from factors that change our ideal gut flora such as diet and anti-biotic usage.

Animal products are a source of vitamin K2(“MK4”) but the best concentrations are in organ meat and people are no longer eating organs. Milk and eggs also are a possible source of K2 but concentrations greatly vary. Animal products we are buying in stores from corporations that should naturally contain K2 do not, this is because animals are not being raised naturally for these corporations and eat very little of their natural diet such as grass. While it is not a widely known fact, even chickens feast on grass naturally and need it to be optimally healthy and produce nutritious eggs.

Certain fermented foods are a good source of K2 and are the recommended way of obtaining K2 since they produce the most absorbable version of K2(“MK7”) that also has the longest half-life, the most famous food example of this is Japanese “Natto”, fermented soybeans.

Vitamin K2 is known to do a number of important things in the body, 1 of the major things it does is manages calcium in the body. For years people have been over-dosing on calcium in hopes it will make them healthier and improve their teeth and bones but the body can not use calcium properly without K2 so calcium intake is actually dangerous and damaging to the body without adequate levels of various nutrients including K2.
Other known critically important nutrients to work with calcium are magnesium and “D” we get from sunlight hitting our body’s oils.

If you ingest lots of calcium without the other needed materials, calcium is deposited all through your body in the wrong places and causes calcification. Therefore K2 prevents this calcification and keeps things like your blood vessels flowing and also from becoming like fossilized and eventually rupturing from the calcification.

Multiple sources have confirmed that people with narrowing arteries have reversed the damage by increasing K2 intake. This will improve blood flow and therefore will improve your entire health including erections. Jelqing has long been thought to work in part by helping the blood vessels stay healthy and less blocked.

So don’t neglect your K2 needs, and if you have a loved one who is taking in calcium in hopes of maintaining health or is struggling with blood vessels clogging up, share with them the importance of K2.

K2 also does other things in the body, it plays a role in hormone production and management. K2 is expected to enhance testosterone production in males and is found concentrated in the testicles.
It was after I learned this that I wondered what increasing my K2 intake would do for my libido and thought it may give me desirable results since it is such a “hormonal” nutrient.
I started experimenting with a supplement, taking 500mcg, rarely sometimes 700mcg, of K2 MK7 a day with my oily meal.(I eat a lot of olive oil, fat intake boosts hormone production and may benefit you and also be required to see K2 hormonal benefits.)

I’m in my 30s and my libido has dropped off quite a bit compared to when I was a teenager being able to happily go at it twice a day and sometimes even 3 times.
I mention this because after about a week of taking vitamin K2 my sex drive surged to where I felt somewhat like that teenager again, a feeling I never thought I would come close to again, I started struggling to stay productive because all I wanted to do was fertilize eggs. Perhaps I was extra deficient in this vitamin and never knew it.

Anyway, I just wanted to help get the word out so others can give it a try, this surge has boosted my PE routine from the improved libido and possibly improved blood flow. The supplement I use is by “Healthy Origins” and if you shop around you can find it rather cheap.

If you experience the same thing I did, let me know. Also if you have any tips or information for me, that would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a pretty high dose of MK7. Would you expect any libido benefit from 100 mcg per day? Also, it’s curious that a product made from natto says it contains no soy.

I’ve have don’t some reading on K2 and some people say it must be coordinated and taken with other supplements, such as magnesium for example, in order for the body to absorb it. Did you find this to be the case?

Yes it’s high according to the recommended daily dose for men but I have heard before from various sources that they think the recommended daily dose may not be set high enough for us to achieve the optimum levels for health benefits, but where the optimum level is I myself do not know. I’m going to experiment with this dose and see if I get any weird symptoms. It’s claimed you can’t overdose on K2 but I guess I’ll find out.

Scientifically there should be some percent benefit to the libido with 100mcg if you’re not getting much in your diet, though from my experience when I took a K2 supplement in the past I took around the RDA of 90mcg and didn’t feel such a boost to my libido, just recently when I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try to take “therapeutic” high doses is when I experienced an obvious change in my body.

Yes that is what me and my family were talking about when I got the supplement, we thought it was interesting that it’s made from natto yet is labeled soy-free.

I’ve known about these sort of synergies for years and I eat a clean diet based around them so I’ve had very good health benefits from these habits, I can’t say for sure how much benefit I’m getting from being mindful of the synergies but when I ignore them and my nutrients I do start feeling much less athletic and my health is poorer.

I’ve only fallen ill twice in somewhere over 10 years, and both of those times I knew it was going to happen because I got lazy with my sunbathing ritual and it’s to be expected your immune system will weaken when you do not get enough sunlight.

For my magnesium I get it in a few things, I like vegetables and cooked greens, but my main source of magnesium and zinc is naturally leavened wholegrain sourdough rye bread. I also like to mix in some barley because I find barley stabilizes the leavening and I don’t end up with unpredictable batches.
I recommend this to everyone I know who is seeking nutrient dense foods. Modern breads are not very digestible, and modern methods of leavening do not break down all of the anti-nutrients. In the past people leavened bread differently and it wasn’t just for the sake of enjoying the bread more, it’s actually a requirement to be able to digest the grains since we’re not like a cow with multiple stomachs.
A lot of the nutrients in foods like grains are bound to phytic acid and we don’t even actually absorb them because of it, leavening the old way over time breaks down phytic acid and makes all of the nutrients very absorbable. Things like indigestible gluten as well that people have learned is damaging digestive tracts and allowing whole food particles to get into the blood and create a whole host of unwanted ailments and symptoms, naturally leavening grains breaks down gluten.
Concerning gluten, gluten makes pretty bakery products so modern grains have been bred to contain very high levels of gluten for the sake of beautiful and fluffy products, so in the past gluten was not as big an issue and some of these old grains like rye and barley contain nearly no gluten naturally.

The old way of leavening is simply taking flour and pouring water into it and letting it sit out at room temperature or warmer, allowing the naturally occurring bacteria to multiply and break down the flour, not adding in any store-bought yeast or sugar. It will takes days to develop into a really good batch but is very much worth it. I take a large stock pot and make up a huge batch all at once, and then let it leaven in my kitchen for nearly a week and then leave it in my fridge and dip some out every day. It keeps very well.

Anyway I shared that for anyone who may want to try it and because natural magnesium we get from real food is superior to the supplements. Though for anyone who may try this, do know when it 1st starts leavening there is initially a period where it may become unpleasant so it’s normal and after it develops it becomes more pleasant.

Sorry if I’ve talked too much.

I do take K2, and lots of wisdom in what you are saying. Because we’re really not what we eat, but more correctly …. we are what our bodies digest.

It just seems to me that since MK7 affects the distribution of calcium within the body, its at least worth investigating whether there might be such a thing as taking too much.

D3

K2 should use with D3, It supports each others.
