Ejaculate Blood Discloroation

Hey Guys,

The old “Fow” need a little help. The last few days I have been noticing a little discoloration in my ejaculate. It doesn’t occur every time but enough to get me concerned. I used last nights BJ results(she doesn’t swallow) as confirmation. I plan to set up a doctors appoint asap. Have ceased all clamping, stretching , etc. until this is resolved. Questions:

Have any of you had blood traces in your semen?
Any suggestions on what might be the origin?
Any suggestions on preventive measures?

Had my semi-annual heart doctor visit yesterday and ask for PSA test to be included in the blood work. Should get an answer from that in a couple of days

I’m glad to hear that you have or are planning to schedule an appointment with the doctor. Normally, usually, frequently, but not always, blood in the semen isn’t a good thing. Do you have problems with the prostate?

Thanks for your concern. Just got my PSA results a few minutes ago, was .09 which is normal or good. Have no problems with prostate that I am aware of.

Blood in semen (hemataspermia) is fairly common and is seldom a sign of cancer or something really serious. It will usually clear up within a few days. If it doesn’t clear and continues, have it checked out.

Way back when I started PE the first time, I apparently injured my urethra by a bit of overzealous manipulation and kegeling, and did see some periodic traces of blood. Backed way off on my routine and never had a recurrance.

Possibly you had a similar experience.

Yeah I remember braindrain had this happen to him and he backed off and let it heal and has been good ever since.

Fow - The list of reasons for blood in semen is actually rather long. For guys under 40, the most common causes are inflammation and infections of any part of the ejaculatory system from the testis to the prostate. Only in much older men is it a symptom of much more serious problems. Anytime you see something weird come out of your penis besides the normal yellow and white it kinda gets your attention. The vast majority guys with hematospermia see their doctor after the 1st or 2nd episode. I agree with avocet8 that it’s probably nothing serious. I’ll bet you’ll feel a whole lot more reassured if you had your doc wave his (or maybe even her) hands over your penis and tell you the same thing.

AS a Medical Assistant I came across this problem a few times. The doctor said it is usually due to strain. Have you been lifting heavy weight here lately?
