My testosterone level is around the same as yours, and I am constantly horny.
I would strongly suggest NOT messing with androgel, unless you want to rely on it for the rest of your life. It will kill your natural testosterone production, which would be a damn shame since your body is doing a perfectly fine job of producing adequate amounts of T for you.
I would look into psychotherapy, not because I think your crazy, but it seems to be the only thing you haven’t explored, and many doctors have failed to find a physical cause.
I would also continue to look for specialists in this area who would be willing to study you in depth.
I once saw a story about a guy with a tumor who was producing too much estrogen, and never had a sex drive and didn’t even shave. After they found it, he basically turned into a different person. It might have nothing to do with you, but there is an answer for you somewhere. Good luck.

I always make sure to get my blood tests first thing in the morning because of the variation. Yeah I only did the Androgel for those 5 weeks and never did it again after another guy told me the same thing. My doctor gave me Testim to try but I never have. Some folks ask me about an MRI. I had a severe migraine last April and drove myself to the emergency room. The doctor there made me promise to get one set up immediately and I did but it didn’t show anything.

Formula 1,

I’ve been reading Zane blues thread here;

Female curiosity

and I seem to remember I think is was Dr Sears who was discussing how some viruses that can disrupt certain enzymatic cycles…etc, etc.

Anyway, bottom line, that fish oil stuff may actually make a big difference for you. You really have nothing to lose, in that its good for you anyway.

I recommend pm Zane Blue and get her recommendation, short of that, Dr Sears markets a pharmacetical grade, molecularly distilled fish oil ( it completely gets out the bad stuff).

Let us know what happens.

Not wishing to throw out the baby with the bath water, it sounds pretty sure that the likely trigger was the virus(?) a couple of years back. Your numbers look good, and although there may be a psycholgical association in there somewhere I suspect from the way you communicate that it is marginal at most.

I think Sparkyx is nearest the money, though it may be a tough one to isolate. My suspicion, and the areas I would look at first are as follows:

i) The virus (I’ll call it a virus until we know different) affected some glands that are indicated in the sexual response (histamine production perhaps?).
ii) The virus caused some serious inflammation (indicated by sore joints etc) that has caused a vasodilatory constraint as a result of fibrosis or other constriction.

I would try the fish oil as already suggested. I would also start enquiring to the doc what kind of specialist I could see that would assess the complications of a virus. Although you’ve seen many specialists of the same discipline, in your own words, the virus seems pivotal in the change in response, so I’m curious why they haven’t picked up on that.

dravg is suspecting more of a psychological aspect. (just kidding I’m not a doctor).

But take into consideration that erections are difficult even with those massive doses of C,V, and L. Those drugs need you to be aroused to work, and there is something that is preventing the brain from sending the arousal signals?

I’ve got some at home that I tried for a couple of weeks. I’ll see what kind it is then pm zaneblue.

That has always been my contention is that the virus or whatever it was triggered this whole thing. I have made it a point to relate how everything changed after those two occasions but it seems it goes right over the physicians head. They just gloss over it like it doesn’t make any difference. One urologist even told me that it could have not happened that way. Well I was there. I had a front row seat for it and it did happen that way. Needless to say that was the only time I saw him.

On your second point, I don’t know if I mentioned this before but along with the sexual problems, my general strength and fitness level started to decline very rapidly. Before I was playing basketball three or four nights a week during the winter. At 37 years old I was able to run and gun with the young guys. During the summer I was playing golf three days during the week and at least once on the weekends and I always walked the course. Right after the illness I started losing strength to do those things anymore.

When I get home I will post a link that a friend of mine sent me that is the closest description of what I am experiencing.

You hit the nail on the head with that last line. Something is preventing my brain from receiving and sending arousal signals. That is why my eyes can pick up on a pretty woman or something like that but my brain never comprehends that it is something that should be turning me on. It’s like a bad satellite signal or something. I also think it goes hand in hand with the problems I have concentrating. If you could see how many errors I make just typing short things such as this paragraph.sheez.

I got interested in this thread by Formula1 mentioning his problems in another thread. I’m a little confused by your talk in the Propecia thread too, where you somehow tie in your libido problems with taking Propecia. But if that’s not the case I don’t want to be alarmist but I think you should get a full physical with complete workup soon. I think you are looking at the wrong thing. Sudden drop in libido like than can indicate a major illness of some kind, often it is the first sign. Especially with the other symptoms you describe and the peculiar onset. I am not a doctor, but I know enough to take the body’s sexual function as a good indicator for general health.

I think it's the woman's job to tighten up to fit her man--it's lots easier for us.

I see you did pm me and I replied. Did you start taking the fish oil and did it make a difference? I guess it didn’t.

I was thinking that there has to be a limit to the amount of these PDE5 inhibitors (erection drugs), that is effective. Your tissues can only utilize so much NO2, and after your tissue is saturated more drugs won’t do anything. Also remember that these drugs don’t create NO2, they prevent its breakdown. I think that Formulas doses are are way beyond the point of efficacy, and probably dangerous. Formula, If you cut your dose down to 50%, then 25%, of what you currently take, I bet you would find that the lower dose works just as well, maybe better.

Can you take Cialis ever 72 hours? I’m thinking that having a day or two before the next dose would work best.

Sorry to be so late with this, just saw your question about PT-141. Here’s a link.

From the Cialis web site:

How should you take CIALIS?
Take CIALIS exactly as your doctor prescribes. CIALIS comes in different doses (5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg). For most men, the recommended starting dose is 10 mg. CIALIS should be taken no more than once a day.
Some men can only take a low dose of CIALIS because of medical conditions or medicines they take. Your doctor will prescribe the dose that is right for you.

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may start you on a lower dose of CIALIS.
If you have kidney or liver problems or you are taking certain medications, your doctor may limit your highest dose of CIALIS to 10 mg and may also limit you to one tablet in 48 hours (2 days) or one tablet in 72 hours (3 days).
If you have prostate problems or high blood pressure for which you take medicines called alpha blockers, your doctor may start you on a lower dose of CIALIS.

I started with those lower doses and they did not work. That is why I had to work my way up to these current levels.

PT-141 sounds promising. I wish it didn’t take forever for them to market this stuff. They said they would do the last phase of testing in late 2006. So I guess it’ll hit the market 2007ish? By then it’s wholly possible I will have killed myself. Plus by then kitsnmore will probably be shut down. Fuck The Man.
