After reading a lot about PE for a long time, decided to begin.

Started today (01/29) with the newbie routine, pretty much textbook:

— 10 minutes with a hot towel. Avoided my balls.

— Held a stretch in the 5 different directions for 30 seconds each. Was gonna do a 360° but forgot.

— 10 minutes jelqing. My jelqing technique is still very amateur, so I probably didn’t do it 100%. It’s okay. I’ll get better every time. I didn’t have any lube and I know people don’t recommend using soap, but I found it hard to do a decent continuous jelq while dry (circumcised, no loose skin to pull). Towards the end I realized I could use saliva. Probably gonna buy lube or use saliva next time. My erection level varied a lot, sometimes it would get a bit higher but I kept bringing it down.

— About 7 minutes with a hot wrap again.

—I couldn’t hold a kegel for 5 seconds like described, seemed too long. I can only hold it for about a second (but when urinating, I can control it for any amount of time, I can start/stop at command easily). So I did about 2 minutes of kegels while trying to hold them as long as possible.

I tried to not go too hard with jelqing, better to err on too little than too much. Gonna see if I get any PIs by tomorrow. Like I said, my technique is still all over the place but I’m sure I’ll get better, just like getting used to going to the gym

Hello and welcome RefuseToLose.

Sounds like you did your reading and have a healthy approach to PE.

I’m circumcised too but only ever jelq dry because I don’t like to have to clean up the lube every time. I can’t image saliva being a very good jelqing lube.

You might want to consider taking starting pictures for yourself (or share them here). I didn’t but I wish I had.

Well since the penis isn’t completely erect, it’s not at its 100% length so there is skin to spare. I can’t do the entire shaft in one stroke but it is close enough.

Didn’t train yesterday because I felt tired and sleepy.

Today was pretty physical, went to gym and then PE’d at home.

My jelqing technique is getting a bit better. Could say the first day was a “rehearsal” and today was the real thing. I’m even afraid I might have gone too hard with the jelqing. Gonna watch for PIs tomorrow and see if I take a break for one or two days. Trying to avoid masturbating until then.

1 AM and I just finished training.. Been absorbed reading some posts here and procrastinated. But no worries.

I have a bottle of olive oil now - it’s pretty good for jelqing. Like I described on my spreadsheet, jelqed for just 5 minutes and watched the chronometer for trying to keep each jelq for 3 seconds. My dick feels tingly and a bit pumped. Gonna try to sleep even though jelqing gives me energy to do stuff. Gotta wake up early and try to go to gym in the morning.

By the way, when stretching, I felt a little pain in the ligament so I stopped at around 2 minutes. Want to keep it light for now.

Hey man, just checked out your spreadsheet and what you did there is great. A schedule to follow will help you remember what days are train days and which are rest. Excellent job there.

What I will say is you’ll not want to add minutes like you have. One should not ramp up their routine until they’ve measured their first gains. In fact, I haven’t even ramped up yet. You’ll want to stay consistent, adding nothing. No extra time and no more jelqs. What you’ll end up doing by adding this extra time to your workout, is actually toughen up your penis and make it harder to achieve gains.

My routine has been 5 minutes warm-up, 5 minutes stretching, 200-3 second wet jelqs or about 10 minutes, then a warm down for 5 minutes. Pretty much the standard newbie routine the site offers. I also do edging, without ejaculating. All of this has worked for me, but remember every guy is different. Some of us experience the “newbie pop” and some don’t.

Hmm, I see. I thought about adding minutes because that’s what the newbie routine actually says (“Gradually increase to 10 min total of stretches and 30 min of jelqing over about 6 weeks time.”). I just took that and replaced 30 minutes with 20 minutes, so it’s actually under what the newbie routine recommends.

But your approach seems more rational - why ramp if gains are still happening? I’ll keep the same amount of minutes (5 for stretching, 5 for jelqing) for as long as I measure gains, and ramp when gains stop completely. Thanks for the advice.

By the way.. I have trouble keeping the towel warm. At the beginning, it’s way too hot to put on the skin, but after that, it cools off too quickly and I have to keep dousing it in warm water. I wish I could keep a steady temperature over the whole period instead of letting it float. Someone’s signature says that heat is the difference between more or less gains. How do you warm up? Can you maintain a hot temperature for the full 5 minutes?

Yes, you are correct. It does say that and I started ramping my routine up for a few days earlier on. I was given the advice by a man well respected by me, not to ramp up before I notice my first gains. With his thoughtful advice and overall knowledge of PE, I took his word and kept at the same routine. And what happened, I gained. So I try to pass on this tidbit to everyone I can and I’m still doing it as though I did when I first started. I’ll ramp up, when I feel the gains have stopped.

It’s funny you ask about the heat. I know exactly what you’re talking about and the same thing kept happening. Then I started hopping into a five minute hot shower, just keeping the water on my penis. I felt I was wasting too much water this was and I have to pay the bill, so I didn’t like it. I kept thinking of different things and one day I was going through a cabinet and found a hair blow dryer. That has become my standard heat source now. It seems to be working phenomenally. I set it on the back of the toilet(seat down, of course) or vanity and just let it blow as I’m stretching for yes, 5 minutes. I also blow it on my dick for 5 minutes prior and 5 minutes after my routine, of course not holding it too close. Just enough to feel the heat, without a feel of burning. Since starting this, I feel I’ve popped even more. :D

So look around your house. You may just have something lying around that you could use for a heat source. Or there are many other suggestions in a lot of the threads around here. All in all, I’m a true believer in the benefits of heat.

There’s a hair dryer somewhere in here, but for today, I used the shower hose. It worked perfectly, with a very hot and directed water stream. With it, I can use heat for as long as I need. No way I’m ever going back to the towel wrap! :D Next time I’ll use the hair dryer and compare it, if the shower hose is still the best I’ll stick with it.

It’s settled, I’ll stick with the same routine without additions for a month. I’ll make full erection measurements tomorrow during my rest. Meanwhile, I’ll work on sawing off the tip of the ruler I bought, so I can measure the real length. What’s the best way to saw it off without making the ruler edgy and thus risking cutting myself?

It’s been annoyingly hard to get a good picture of a 100% erection with the ruler (which I sawed off just okay, btw). Didn’t bother much with it for now.

Training is going normally, same schedule, sometimes less (if I masturbated too much before).

Felt a tiny bit thicker than usual when going out on the street. Don’t know if it was the training or the 2 hour long edging I did.

Haha!! I just posted about this last week when I took my first pictures. They were disasters. Couldn’t stay hard for nothing and the fiddling with the camera, maintaining an erection, and trying to hold the ruler all at the same time, it’s almost impossible. I have to admire the guys who are able to do this.

You will start to feel it. It doesn’t take long. You’re penis is adjusting and gains will eventually be noticeable. The edging is probably what really makes your dick feel thicker. I know after I edge, mine always feels thick and heavy.

Stay focused and diligent. You’re doing a great job so far.

I struggle so much with it that it just annoys me and I give up. Either the erection goes away, or the camera’s focus is crap so it doesn’t show the numbers on the ruler, or the lighting is terrible and there’s a shadow on everything.. I’ll get it eventually.
