Hi everyone,

I have decided to start my own progress thread to keep myself accountable and to use this thread as some sort of journal. I am currently 2 months in to a relaxed version of the Linear Newbie Routine, and I am mainly looking for girth. I do not usually rigorously time or count reps, as I go mainly by feel, but I have worked up to about 15 minutes of jelqing.
With my jelqs, I aim for long and slow reps (around 4-5 seconds), with the occasional 2-3 second hold at the beginning of each rep at the base. I believe, as many others do, that these long slow jelqs are the key to doing this exercise correctly. I am struggling to get the right stretching technique down, as a comfortable grip is eluding me. My head is much smaller than my shaft, and it feels that the only way to get a good grip is to either hurt my glans, or to grab lower on the shaft which causes skin to ride up and makes me feel like I am only stretching the skin. I have read through all the stretching threads, watched the videos, and I just hope that I will eventually find a grip that works for me.

I feel very lucky with my 8 week newbie gains. I do not believe I have gained anything in length, but my BPEL can be a little difficult to measure as it is “hard” to get that 10/10 erection that is needed for maximizing one’s length potential when it is just my hand and I all alone. My average BPEL while masturbating is around 7.85, but I can get to the 8 inch mark when I am completely erect. I would be happy with any length gains, but they are not my focus. My starting MEG was 5.25, which was the largest part of my shaft. Yesterday, I measured an official 5.5 MEG, which after 2 months in, I am very happy about. The smallest part of my shaft, which used to be just a touch over 5 inches in circumference, is now 5.375 inches. My CS has seemed to grow the most out of any part of my penis.

I hope that these Newbie Gains continue. Looking at this very handy chart of my stats (thank you Thundersplace!), my rate of growth has been nearly constant. If I were to keep gaining girth at this rate, I would get to 5.75 MEG by mid-September, and 6 MEG 4 months from now, though I believe that both of those outcomes are very unlikely. I would very much like to keep up this newbie growth rate, but I know that it will eventually slow down. I seem to be gaining girth fairly quickly, and I do not believe that it is EQ. EQ has stayed constant while measuring, and I am 20 years old, so I have not lost any size due to age. My end goal was initially set at 5.75 MEG, and after the last 2 months, I believe that goal is attainable at the very least, by a year into my PE career (10 months from now). If I reach 5.75, I might have to reevaluate my goals. Each time I see a gain, I can’t seem to believe it is real, and I mentally prepare myself for that to be the last time I ever see a difference on the tape measure.

I am by no means an expert, but I believe that my long, slow, and meticulous jelqs in addition to paying attention to how my penis feels have been the main reason for these gains (or it could just be plain luck), as I was pretty damn skeptical that any of this stuff would work when I started 2 months ago. I have had a couple of weeks where I felt a little sore, so I only did one or two workouts those weeks, and that is perfectly ok! I have not experienced any turtling yet, and the only time I have experienced anything resembling pain in my penis is when I edge/balloon for too long, which definitely has delayed recovery time, and forces me to take another day or two off from my normal 3-4 sessions per week. I am still not positive of the distinction between edging and ballooning, but I am pretty sure I stumbled into ballooning by myself when I was around 15, experimenting as a super intense masturbator, and I have done that for the last couple of years.

As I started out, I had a very bad case of over-measuring, sometimes multiple times a day. Two weeks ago, I put my tape away, and to measure again in a month (August 1st), but yesterday, I succumbed to the urge to measure, and to my surprise, I had hit a legitimate 5.5 MEG after 2 days off. That was only a 0.05 inch increase from my last measurement, but I would never have been as happy with my measurement had I been measuring twice a day for the last two weeks. I think that over-measuring is absolutely terrible for my mental health, and I am going to (try to) force myself to measure only once a month from now on.

Things I am working on:

1) Figuring out a grip to stretch with

2) Lock the tape measure away for months at a time!

3) Continuing to learn how to relax my BC or PC?? Muscle while masturbating as to not cause premature ejaculation

4) Spend less time edging

5) Since there is no hope of sex for a long time due to Covid, figuring out how to get that 10/10 erection more frequently while masturbating. I think that this goes hand in hand with number 3.

A question to anyone reading this:

When should I take a decon break? I have read tntjockey’s story, thoughtfulgold’s post about two week decon breaks after 6 weeks of workouts, and I think that this line of thinking is a great idea. When, as a newbie who is still experiencing newbie gains, should I take a decon break? Should I do it as soon as my rate of gains seem to slow, a mandatory break after the first three months, or even now after 8 weeks of PE as to make sure to keep my tissues soft? This is something that I have been thinking about more often now as penis health is my number one priority, and I can also see now that my penis is starting to become fairly conditioned—which is of course a good thing and a bad thing. I can use a little more force with less fear of injury, but workouts are also starting to take longer and tissues might start to become tougher, the latter of which I want to limit only 2 months in.

I have been jelqing with a combo of the overhand and underhand OK grip, stressing the CCs and the CS, but making sure to not put very much pressure on the top of my penis. I really have been working on getting as close to the base as possible for the start of each jelq, as I have a sort of baseball bat looking dick, and I would not like to increase that look. My girth at the base is the biggest at any point along the shaft, but then the smallest 1.5 inches out from the base, then gets bigger up to the biggest point 1.5 inches from the glans, then tapers back down to a somewhat small glans. I guess it is like a baseball bat dick combined with an hourglass, but then with a small head on top if that makes any sense at all.

In my opinion decon breaks are an important tool for when someone has reached a plateau in their program. If you are still experiencing gains, continue with your program.

I had a great workout yesterday. One of those workouts that are almost too good—the ones that make you want to jump right in to advanced exercises when you look down and see your penis with more veins then you thought possible looking thicker and meatier than ever. I have to be careful. The workouts are working, and they need to stay short and sweet for the risk of injury and for the sake of not conditioning my penis too quickly. Ulis, Horses, Squeezes, they can all wait a couple of more months no matter how enticing they seem now. I’m only 8 weeks in. Those exercises aren’t going anywhere, and neither am I.

I think I am starting to get the hang of stretching, though I am still a little wary that I am hurting my glans with my grip.

I have started using olive oil as a lubricant. Wow, it is so much better than vaseline. It stays on for much longer, and only requires a couple of drops. The next day, my penis skin felt incredible. I struggle with dry skin down there, and this is going to make it feel much better. Although it is a little weird when masturbating because my dick smells like pasta when I am trying to get aroused, and I still haven’t decided how I feel about that.

I know some of this stuff is unrelated to my actual directly size increasing journey, but I think it is important to treat this as a holistic journey of self enhancement, not necessarily improvement, as improvement implies that something was lacking in the first place. I want to increase my size, get more vascular, learn sexual techniques, figure out how to get harder erections, and make those erections last for as long as I want. Also it is fun learning about things like edging and ballooning, as intense masturbation sessions are pretty much my only option of sexual fulfillment during this pandemic anyway. I had an orgasm so powerful yesterday that I couldn’t stand for 5 minutes.

Anyways, yesterday I had my best body positive day I’ve ever had. I was watching porn (I know it’s bad), and I was looking down at my dick, just being happy and proud of what I have down there, and if I came across some monster cock in a video, I would just smile and laugh without my normal embarrassment or insecurities. If I could feel like that every day, I would be very content.
