I am also questioning what to do with my routine. (All times I talk about below are time in the tube; I jelq and massage/rub between every set. I usually always pull no less than 3 sets and most times pull 5 sets.)

I’ve been pumping quite religiously since May last year. On average, I pull about 41 minutes a session. Many sessions are between 30-40 min, some are 40-50, while seldom do I go over 50 or push 60 minutes. But when I do go beyond 50 minutes its amazing! By 30 minutes I’m quite big and floppy, really swollen.

But lately I’ve been trying to avoid edema. I get a pretty decent donut on foreskin now when I go beyond 45 minutes. And I can’t decide if my issues with this are pressure or time. (Oh, and I sometimes get spots but can go 50 minutes with none at all versus sometimes going just 10 and getting spots, I don’t know what causes them, I think it depends on if I’m getting erections and playing around for part of the day before my pump or if I’m taking my vitamins, etc.).

I never, ever, pump past 5hg. I’m usually between 4-5hg. I start out with 5 to 15 minutes of low pressure, usually around a 3-3.5hg. I just feel like once I surpass 4hg then I’m “really” starting to pump. I know that at 3hg I’m still pumping and the vacuum is working and doing what it’s supposed to be doing. It keeps a seal nicely too. But, I just like the slightly higher pressure.

But is 5hg really too much pressure? Is 4hg? Will I just wind up with a donut regardless of what I do pressure or time-wise? I’d really like to get a pump in that’s 75 minutes or more. I’ve heard the wonderful stories from so many members here and pumpers on other channels that say the long, hour+ sessions are the bread and butter and its the way to go. I also feel like I’m a well seasoned pumper at this point, I have never had a blister or a bruise, my spotting is usually light and gone the next day, and my donuts fade in 6-12 hours.

I have a 2”diameter tube and a 1.75” and I pump more with the smaller. I start with the bigger tube and move to the smaller one for the duration of my pump session. I have heat from rice socks on the small tube constantly. I am extremely close to packing the smaller tube, if a fully packed shaft is 100% then I’m at like 90% at the end of my best 45-55minute pumps. My cock is like 5.3” inch diameter, length is 7.8” unpumped and a tad over 8”inches pumped. I just feel like I could get bigger with more time, but I’m scared of edema and other issues!!

That’s quite individual. I know about 2 approaches in PE. One is low force and long time, another is mid/high force for short or mid time. For example, manual stretching and hanging/extender. No one pulls manually for 8 hours/day, some routines have only 5-15 minutes of stretching, but at the same time people stretch with greater force to get gains, while with extender people can leave it be at slightly longer than erect size.

In my experience, it’s pressure*time effect. I can do extremely high pressure for very short time (like 5-30 seconds) and it doesn’t give any injury, but if I keep it for longer time then dots and small edema (mostly around glans) are coming. With lower pressure it takes more time and at low pressure it might not appear at all. But question is, what gives gains for you? Because people do really different routines, and different approaches, and they all get gains at the end too. You can adjust it, maybe you need smaller pressure at the end, because tissue becomes exhausted. Or you can completely change that.

Yah, I actually have for sure. My wife has a harder time taking me now and I can’t deny that! She likes it though, and doesn’t want me to stop :) Thanks for that question, really made me kind of sit down in reality for a second and think about what I’ve been doing for over the last year, I needed that!

I was 6 3/8” in March 2003 when I first started PE with jelqs and stretches only (the old school stuff you could get online back then), got to 7 1/4” by the end of the year. Plateaued for a few months, then got into way more intense stretching and jelqing and managed to get up to 8” sometime early spring 2005. Started pumping and doing sporadic PE in 2007, but dropped off through the years, I never saw more gains. In March last year my wife said “you don’t seem as big as you’ve been, are you doing something different?” And I realized I hadn’t measured or done much of any PE in like 2 or more years, even then it was just every now and then, like 3 times a year. You know like pump just for fun. So I measured and I was like 7 1/4”? I was like “I can’t be,” but I seemed a bit thinner than I remembered and I decided I should really get back to pumping but for real. I got back in May last year and have pumped so much since! On a ruler bone pressed I’m 7 3/4” or slightly over sometimes, in the pump I’m 8” or on amazing days (what those days are I don’t know why they are like that!) up to 8 1/4”. Since I’m pumping I’m pushing girth to new levels of awesomeness but I’m nowhere near what some guys are, that push 6” omg. My wife and I would never be able to fuck again at that size, I don’t know if she can handle 5.5”. Close to it, but since pumping she has a tough time with me. Gotta figure out what to do because she wants it big! She encourages me to pump, but gets a little timid over a larger size on me. I do what she says in that regard!

I have notes for every pump from the last 16 months or so. I should post all my routines here I guess, not sure if anyone’s interested, but yah it’s a cool place to collect it. I’ve been putting everything in a spreadsheet to try to make some better sense out of it, kind of makes my brain hurt to look at over the last few months! Thanks for the tips!

What a journey! I can only assume you would have maintained your original gains if you had done PE more often, like a couple of times a month. Who knows for sure. I’d say people are definitely interested in your routines, you gained! So is your current goal girth, length, or both?

Thanks! Yah, I should’ve kept it up a little more. I honestly didn’t believe in it when I read about it way back then, but figured I’d just give it a try. Some stretches, some jelqs, what was an hour of my day?! A LOT I guess!

I’d like to be longer for sure, and as close to 5.5”inch girth as I can. I think my wife wants me to stay big if not get bigger, so I gotta keep going :) I need to get my routines posted on this forum soon. Everything I’ve done in the past was the most basic of basic. These techniques are so old now I don’t remember all of their names, especially the stretches, or if people even do these exercises anymore. So many devices and techniques nowadays! It’s the pumping that I’m really trying to crack. It’s certainly increased my length and girth over the last 15 months for sure, but not all my pumps are the same and outcomes vary greatly. More on this all soon!

I definitely agree there are a ton of devices and techniques. - It seems a little counterproductive to reverse stage pump if your goal is length. You said your begin your sessions with the 2” cylinder than move to the smaller 1.75” cylinder for the majority of your session. Starting with the larger diameter first may be the reason why your packing the 1.75” up to 90%. Most people stage pump from smaller to larger. Have you found you get a better session in reverse order? Lastly, I’d suggest doing a session solely in the 1.75” cylinder and see how that goes. Unless you’re touching the end of the cylinder, you still have room to grow length wise while limiting your girth expansion.

I start with the 2”tube because I feel like, since my cock is only touching the walls on my right side slightly and the left side of my head (I curve to the left a little bit) then there’s no restriction on surface area, and I feel like my “whole cock” is getting an even pump and even pressure. I treat it as a warm up. After a 5 minute warm up in that, I’ll do another for 5 minutes then move to the thinner tube. The thinner tube is just so much more comfy! I barely have any turkey neck or scrotum pulled into it, and since I make a lot of contact with the walls, the I think the heat I add from my rice socks really makes lots of contact and is way beneficial. Since I don’t really come anywhere close to packing the 2”inch cylinder, I just feel like heat wrapped around that tube isn’t going to heat up my cock very much (although maybe it will? I’ve never tried.). I switch back and forth between these two cylinders randomly during routines. I never really know what I’ll use when, I just go with my gut, how things feel, the way things look, and how interested I am in experimenting that day.

I have done routines in only the smaller tube, with heat added right away. I did a routine in December that was only with the small tube and heat. It was 67 total minutes in the tube broken up through 7 sets, with 14 minutes being the longest in the tube in any one stretch. I got heavy red spots and edema that session; however, it was it was my third consecutive day of pumping and day one was 30 minutes and day two 37 minutes of tube time, so maybe the doubled time on day three was pushing it? I did note that it was the “biggest pump ever!!” and I was closer to packing the 1.75” than since I got it in early September. I measured girth twice hours later well into the night and I was still at 5.5”inches!! Subsided the following day of course, but man, it was damn good.

Your comments have given me renewed interest and care in really assessing my pumping journey since June last year. I have some interesting results and findings! (I’m a social scientist by trade, so when it comes to collecting data I’m like a nut job; you can imagine when this is applied to something like penis pumping that things can get a bit serious!). I’m going to start a thread in the “progress and results” page here on Thunders, you’ve convinced me it’s worth it!
