Yup, that definetly sounds scary. Using a rubber grommit will work though I would imagne, just make sure you glue that sucker down real good like.
I put the sucton tube in the same end as my unit. I have found that it works better if I put the tube in so that it’s on the bottom of the opening, and my unit lays on top of the suction tube. If I do it the other way around, I have a tough time getting a good seal.
I’m not so sure about drilling into glass, I always seem to have whatever I was workng on blow up in my hands when I do that. I think it might be better, if there’s enough room in the lid, to mount the tube nipple there.
Hmmm now that I think about it, that may not work. You might end up wth the nipple digging into you once you get the suction going.
