I’ve been pumping for a month now, and have gained about 1/2” in EL, both in tube and out (regained, actually, as I’m doing this for ED). I’m happy with this so far except for one thing:

About a week ago, I started getting some chafing on the ridge of my glans after I get up to vacuum (about 5 in/Hg). It hurts and is starting to sort of scab over in little dot-like places around the edge of the helmet. I’ve tried using more lube (KY) and that doesn’t seem to help, though I haven’t really slathered it on—this wasn’t an issue for 3 weeks or so with my normal amount. I use short strokes of the tube to maintain and erection, so that’s why there’s motion causing friction.

My unit nowadays is 6.5 BPEL, girth is 5”, maybe a bit more, and I have a slight upward curve. I use a 1.75”x9” tube, and am hitting the sidewalls with girth usually. Maybe a 2” tube would help?

I’ll use more lube onthe ridge next time, and try to figure out a way to keep it from scraping off as I go in. But has anyone else had this problem? It’s killing my enthusiasm because it stings evey time now.

I haven’t had this problem, but, your cock is a very fast healer so I would take off a couple of days to let it heal up. Once healed, the problem probably won’t come back, especially now that you will be lubing everything up good.

Eventually, if you stick with pumping, you will need a 2” tube. Especially, because once you begin to pack hard, your head becomes susceptible to water blisters and they are even more of a bitch then what you have now.

Thanks, gprent, I’ve taken 1 day off but will now wait one more. What’s the cause of the water blisters, and why are they related to packing hard (which I presume means I’m filling up the tube with girth)? How will I know when it’s time to go to 2”?

Not a pumper, myself - not yet - but would an application of Vitamin E (or the like) used between workouts help chaffing/scabing?

Once you get the glans ridge healed, slather K-Y on your glans. Spread more on the inner, lower couple of inches before you first enter the tube. I think it’s a lube problem. You are chafing against some dry area on the inner surface.

Are you seeing a change in your nocturnal erection pattern? More of them yet?

You are correct, packing hard is filling the tube completely with your shaft girth. Some of the longer guys also fill the tube lengthwise.

The reason water blisters form more easily once packed, is because then all of the vacuum pressure is acting on the surface of your head and the lymph fluid concentrates there and blisters form. You should graduate to the 2” tube when it becomes easy for you to pack the 1.75. I am guessing that you are not packing quite yet, only touching the sides in certain areas.

I’ll put more lube on the upper inside entry to the tube, and hope it goes along for the ride.

No changes that I’m aware of. Maybe a bit easier to get it up in the morning, but not exactly morning wood, either. The improvements so far are mostly in erect length, maybe girth, overall hardness and easier erections, but I’m still no Dirk Diggler.

That’s right. Contact area has gone up since starting, but still some free space on the shaft as it approaches the glans. Once that’s filled in, maybe it’s time for a 2.

Cap, I think Vitamin E oil might help, but if you lube well you shouldn’t need it, in my newbie opinion.

Just read what you told kandu about water blisters and that’s what I think is about to happen with me. I’m packing, very solid, my 1 3/4” tube to the max girth- wise now at the beginning of my 4th month (April 1st). I’ve noticed after my 1 hour session a sorta round thick fleshy bulg on the left side of the head, dosen’t hurt or anything..but?

I plan on doing 30 min ( 2- 15 min sets) in the 1 3/4” and the other 30 min in the 2”? Maybe I could do the entire session with the 2”. Anyway, this looks like the start of a water blister… don’t need that slowing me down.
Is that what one looks like?

Sounds like a water blister for sure. They don’t hurt when they form, but when they break and the skin comes off….ouchie mamma.

If it’s a blister, it will more than likely deflate over night, but then fill up again when you pump. If you confirm it’s a blister, not much to do except stop pumping for like a week and let the blister dry up and heal from the inside out.

Can’t actually say it is a blister for sure but it always shows up after a long session and only on the left side. I haven’t noticed any real fluid or liquid in there so don’t know what it is exactly. Man, I hope it don’t break and the skin comes off…Damn!!

I will try and confirm what the deal is tomorrow when I pump. Maybe I will only go for 30 minutes or so. Since this is mainly caused by high pressure on the head wouldn’t it be wise to go up to the 2” then see if the blister persist?
If so, I definately need to stay with the 2” to be safe cause I’ve outgrown the 1 3/4”…sound right?
