Pumping Gains?

Thanks for the reply Avocet. Yes, when I was pumping regularly, I was also jelqing. However, at present, I am investing the limited private time I have for PE mostly into hanging.

I do still pump occassionally, when I feel like it. I was just wondering how typical my experience with pumping is, and whether it would be likely to change if I used a narrower cylinder. Even if I pump up to 8 or 10 pressure (I confess, I have tried pumping that high!), my unit is not lengthened at all in the cylinder beyond it’s normal erect length. The impression that I have formed from the posts I’ve read is that typically there will be some expansion in length under vacuum pressure, just like there is expansion in girth. Is this impression correct? If I start using a narrower cylinder, is my unit likely to expand in length under vacuum pressure? Or is my dick simply super-resistant to such forces?

Heat can really make a very big difference. The connective tissues become more pliable at 104 F -114F.

Try getting your unit up to temp, then pump while KEEPING it at temp.

(heat will dissapate quickly from your unit after removing the heat source. I think in less than 5 minutes it goes below effective temp, but I haven’t measured it.)

When you are almost finished, remove the heat while keeping your unit in the tube under vacuum.

Let your unit cool down for at least five minutes. Applying a cold wash cloth over the tube to speed cooling is good.

When you then come out of the tube, apply the therawrap and wear it for at least an hour if you can.

For those of you not seeing much progress, this can make the difference.

Thanks for that Sparky.

What’s your preferred method of heating the tube and keeping everything toasty while pumping?

Thanks to all posters - I’m learning a lot as a newbie.

Question: What is the rationale behind “packing the tube”? It seems that would limit the exact expansion that the pump is supposed to create. I am much more interested in girth gains (starting at 7.25 x 4.75) and wouldn’t want a packed tube to force my unit into gaining length. Thoughts?

Getting to the point where you are packing the tube is just a sign of progress. If it’s length that your after, then you want to pack the tube so that the vacuum pressure is primarily exerted lengthwise (at least, that’s the theory often presented here). But if it’s girth that you are after, then start with a cylinder size that you are not packing, then work toward packing it; when you get to that point, get a larger cylinder and repeat.

In my experience, pumping is quite effective for girth. So you should do fine there. Also, clamping is a great girth exercise, perhaps even better than pumping. At least, the two together would not be a bad way to go.

Best of luck.

If your going for length then using a narrow cylinder an packing it is the key in my opinion, i currently do around six 10 minute sets a day an by the third set i’m really packing the tube well and i begin to see some impressive length gains, for example at my peak i am over an inch bigger in length in the tube than i am out of it. I do however pump at quite high levels, around 10hg and above but i find i can lower that level during my last few sets and keep a similar length in the tube. Ive been pumping a year now but have only lately started taking it really seriously, i dont know if i’ll gain much but i really like the flacid gain i get from pumping so shall continue doing it, good luck all to pumpers,

For these reasons I’ve taken to pumping with warm water only.
I would never thnk of pumping without water again.
I may experiment with using cool water for the last set to see what happens.
will report back.

Do you only begin to gain length after you’ve packed the cylinder completely? Or do you gain some length in the cylinder before this, and then more after you’ve packed it?

Does this extra length gained during pumping entirely disappear when you remove your unit from the cylinder? Or does it last for a bit, sort of like the girth gains?

I know that you’ve only been doing the above for a short time, but does this seem like something that will help with gaining erect length when not using any such device?

I ask these questions because I seem to be a hard-gainer when it comes to length. So I’m trying to decide if it is worth buying a narrower cylinder. My current cylinder is 2”, and I’m still a ways off from packing it completely.

What kind of pump do you have? I have the LAPDist metal pump, which you cannot use with water.

Motivated,

I do gain some length before fully packing the tube however the best length gains for me are seen when I am completely packing the tube. I too am a very hard gainer when it comes to length and I cudnt tell you if what i’m doing now is effecting my erect length as I don’t intend to measure outside the tube for at least three months. All I know is there is a big difference whilst i’m in the tube and i’m hoping this will have a positive effect on my length outside the tube also.

sparkyx, what type of IR light are you using now?

My pumping experience was pretty different from most pumpers’. I’ve written about it elsewhere, but thought I’d recap for this thread.

I had two bouts of pumping, each lasting about 1 week. I used low pressure (4-5) and short sessions (5-10 minutes).

The negative: I got weaker wood, which freaked me out both times so I stopped. Also, I never thought it felt good. I seem to have a tough tunica, and it only slightly swells inside the tube and not at all afterwards.

The positive: Looking through my lengthy measurements log, I recently realized that the two gains of 0.1” in girth came a few weeks after my short pumping bouts. My conjecture: I really stressed my unit, but then growth came.

I plan to try a third bout, but some other priorities have interfered. I’ll report any results in my log (see link in signature).

Start: 6.3 x 5.2 (Feb '05)

Now: 7.9 x 5.65 (gain 1.6 x 0.45) - SFL 8.6"

Goal: 8.5 x 6.0 - Currently trying: jelqing, fulcrum hanging/bending. My data - Progress log
