New to PEPumping, Advice Needed

New to PEPumping, Advice Needed

Hey, so I’ve been pumping for about 1.5 months now and making some good progress. I tried manual exercises for a short time, hanging, and pumping, before deciding to stick with pumping for a while even though I’m new. I know its recommended for newbies to stick with the starter routine, but in my case pumping is the most enjoyable, and gets me excited each day to do some PE. And that’s huge for staying committed to a routine, so it’s what I’ve been starting with.

I started low and slow, 2.5 inhg at 5 minutes per day and worked my way up. Until this week my cycle was usually 3 days on, 1 day off. Up to this point I’ve seen some good results, went from slightly under 6” BPEL to 6.375”. Girth has increased a bit from my starting point at 4.5” MSEG, but I haven’t measured it recently.

Here’s my issue: I’ve started getting donuts almost every session since ramping up to 30 mins per day. I didn’t notice them around the 25 min mark, but close to 30 it’s been happening often (still at 2.5inhg). I recently decided to drop my cycle down to 2 on/ 1 off as my erection quality by the 3rd day was diminished. Should I be avoiding these donuts completely and drop my time back down? I know its fluid buildup and goes away within 12 hours, but I wasn’t sure if it’s bad to get them over and over again. I’d like to keep progressing on time, but if I need to slow down and cut back a bit I will.

Also, is the edema an issue of not being conditioned enough for those strain levels? Or is it a body response that won’t change no matter how much you practice PE? My goal is to hit 1 hr in the tube at a lower pressure, and then start increasing pressure slowly up to 5 inhg, instead of time, going forward.

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

To avoid excess edema,The rule of thumb is to limit time under vacuum to under 20 minutes and hg to 5 or lower.

I totally agree that a huge under looked topic in the enlargement process is doing something you can enjoy in the process. Unless you’re just on another level desperate for more size, most people that try a routine lasts about 2-6 weeks and they tap out. So props for finding something you enjoy more. As far as the edema, check out the “Toe Caps” they have on Amazon that will fit right over your glans and it helps more than you can imagine with that issue. They are like $13 for 30 caps, whereas I’ve seen places that charge $10 for 2 caps. They are both the same thing to me. Another thing you can do is break that 1 long session up in half, say do 2 sets of 15 minutes instead of 1 set of 30, and still gradually increase those 2 sets over time, and so on and so forth. I usually rest about 5-7 minutes between sets since I do not pump no longer than 40 minutes. The main thing with pumping is not the pressure, but the slow gains you consistently make. Monitor the markings on your tube and every 3-4 weeks, you should be filling the cylinder up a little bit more, it may only be half a mm in length, it may be 1 or 2 mm, gains are gains and steady progress is what matters. You can gradually increase pressure as you feel needed as you gain more experience.

Just ordered a pump. Can’t wait to use it.

Hope you can find the optimum time and pressure for the gains.

I second what Magfitz is saying. All good thoughts.

Also, don’t be afraid to play with your work schedule. Everyone is different and you may find that another frequency setup is more beneficial to your gains, like 2 on 1 off at the same pressure and time as normal. 1 less consecutive day of pumping might give your dick less to recover from with your 1 day of rest and you may see better gains without having to change your time and pressure in the tube.

You could even dial back the time or pressure significantly (like almost in half just to be safe) and try a 1 on 1 off routine. If you like it and it seems to work ok, you could then slowly add more time or pressure to get back to 20 min at 5hg. It’s never a good thing to add both at the same time though.

A good tactic I hear some vets mention is when increasing your pressure in a routine, dial back the time a little bit for a few sessions to give your dick time to adjust to the new pull. Your not going to move forward pumping for too little time but the important thing is, you won’t go backwards (unless you’re just plain using too much pressure).

Some other random thoughts about pumping… Cumulative fatigue is a real turd when we do too much. It is the most sneaky with pumping IMO.

The overworked tissues don’t seem to immediately show the results of the fatigue until you suffer a rather sudden drop in EQ. With Clamping or Jelqing, if you over work it seems the EQ issues are almost immediately apparant. At least that’s my experience with it.

Many times I thought that adding more time in the pump or higher pumping frequency would be a good thing for my gains and it usually seemed good but only for the first few sessions. Going beyond what was already working always set me back; poor EQ, more rest time needed, and most if not all temporary gains lost during the recovery period.

Being a dullard and hungry for gains, I would always rush back into the routine without the proper recovery and dick reset so to speak so it was always an uphill battle.

Also, congrats on your gains dude

I go for two hours all in one set with no donut effect because I use a heating pad

My theory is your penis over time will become conditioned to take more stress

Sage advice from Magfitz and this post as well. Especially the topic about cumulative fatigue. That is rarely brought up around here and happens to probably a lot of us. You described my recent situations perfectly with jelqing. Things would be on point with amazing EQ, so I would ramp up things just a bit, followed by a few days of good EQ and then a sudden drop in EQ, and it would almost leave me confused. After this happening a few times I recognized the pattern. Now I’m on reset and going to stick with what is working for now.

Congrats on the gains man!

Thanks a bunch for the replies everyone, a lot of food for thought.
I’ll definitely look into those toe caps Magfitz!

I’m going to try all the tips posted above and see what works best for me. Maybe all I need to do is break up the sets more and take a bigger break in between. Up to this point I’ve just pumped some fresh blood in by dropping vacuum around the 10 min mark, and pumped back up immediately. Will try the 5 min break for sure and see if it helps!

I’ve been really happy with the improvement to my flaccid hang these past few months. In my teen years I was really embarrassed by it, cause it would be turtled 80% of the time. Now it’s the other way around and feels great.

That’s a good theory since it has been taught as a part of PE since it was invented. ;)

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.
