I am a 58 year old guy who first pumped day before yesterday for the first time. I see where Avocet8 says pumping is great for nighttime wood and morning wood and that is a major reason I bought a pump. Yesterday morning I thought I had reverted back to my teen years as the very first morning after pumping, I was very hard on awakening and the pecker took a long time to go down. This morning’s erection was okay and faded fairly quickly. It was not like yesterday. My question is to all pumping guys who have had better wood both nighttime and morning. How long did you pump before you noticed better wood in those department. What has been your experiences with variations of morning wood? Any guidance for me here? I was disapointed that this morning was not a repeat of yesterday. Thanks Guys.

Thanks Mr. Happy. How old/young are you? Have you noticed any correlation between overly aggressive pumping and poorer nighttime and morning wood? I bought my pump from LA Pump and Charles the very nice gentleman/owner sold me two cylinders: one for girth and one for length. Going against Avocets advice to pump only 10 minutes the first week, I had to try both tubes yesterday for 10 minutes each. I noticed after the second pumping session that I was spongy/fluid like in my erection. It was not like that on the first day as the newness of the pump made me hard and aroused. I am wondering if I overdid it and thats why I had the lesser results in the nighttime and morning wood department. Is there any correlation? By the way, I pump at low levels. I pump up to six Hg and let the needle fall to three before I pump up again. Any answers for me guys on the correlation? What methods do you pumping guys use to make sure that you come out of the tube like a rock and not with a spongy erection? Do you kegel? Go in the pump fully hard? Go in the tube semi hard? Some jelgers say they watch porn to stay up but that is not in the cards for me. Thanks.

Most of the guys here have found that going into the tube fully hard does cut down in lymphatic fluid buildup.

Try to hold back on the duration of your pump sessions until you are more “conditioned.” If you want to use both your cylinders, for now do five minutes in each. In a couple weeks you’ll have more latitude in the duration of your sessions.

I’m trying to remember back to how long it was before the wood thing started happening. I’m going to guess a few weeks or a month into pumping, but keep in mind that I had ED when I got into pumping. I remember specifically that I never woke in the night or the morning with a hard-on, then it just started happening again and continued. It’s a rare day now that I don’t wake with a hard-on. These nocturnal events are especially important to us older guys. They perform a “housekeeping” function, re-oxygenating tissue and flushing out accumulated gunk in our penile vascular systems.

Thanks Avocet for your explanation. I guess the thrill of waiting for the morning wood to go down on yesterday left me euphoric. I thought I had found the fountain of youth in pumping. No such luck this morning. I was so disapointed. Avocet, have you noted a correlation between over active pumping and lesser wood at night or the morning. I will heed all of your advice which as always is so reasonable. Thanks again.

I did very light pumping and still ended up with weaker wood. A few others reported the same. (See my progress report link in the signature and one other thread I started on this.)

So I stopped pumping.

However, I just looked through my data (I measure almost daily). My first girth growth happened in the weeks after pumping, the second after I tried restarting (but soon stopped).

So… I think I’ll restart pumping yet again, but only once or twice a week, and, of course, only 5”Hg for 5 min or so. I think the occasional trauma may result in growth for people like me with a stubbornly hard tunica.

Every 0.1” in girth is an ecstacy — I cannot wait for more!

Thinktank, I also just got a pump so I can’t really speak with any experience yet with it but I wanted to ask if you have tried talking supplements to go along with your routine? Everyone probably has their own opinions on supplements but when you get our age I personally think it helps. I’m 49 and it really helps me. I Arginmax with L-Arginine, Horney Goat Weed with Maca, and L- Carnitine among other things. I’m sure you can get more info from the other members.

Hey Travelguy14: READY??? I take HGH stimulators: L-arginine, L-Carnitine, L-ornithine, L-lysine and Gaba. I also take super doses of Alpha Lipoic Acid and Acetyl L Carnitine. I am also on Horney Goat Weed Extract,Tribulus Terrestruis and Maca Extract. For estrogen control, I take Indoplex DIM. A doctor freind who is into supplements says supplements work subtly compared to prescription drugs. I have found that to be true. Supplements help. I stopped them for two weeks and noticed a pronounced difference in mood, libido, and focus. Aging is the pits. One of the best kept secrets of the available prescription drugs is that cialis at 20 mg taken every 72 hours can turn back the clock 20 to 30 years in a mans life. To me, it has a profound build up effect in my body. My endocrinologist recommended this regimen to me calling it off label use. I dont want to highjack my own thread but you raise a valid point on supplements. There are other supplements out there that can reduce our refractory time. Europe is full of holistic medical practitioners. Last year I met a Harvard educated doctor in Florida who was board certified in Psychiatry, Neurology, and Pain Management. He prescribed supplements to his patients and his office walls were packed with supplements. I was amazed. On pumping, lets keep in touch. Us older guys fight a battle to stay young. Anything you overdo in PE (not just pumping) is going to be revealed in lower erectile response, at least until you recover from whatever you did.

Lordy, you do take a boatload of supplements.

Try this with your L-arginine: You don’t say how much you use, but whatever, take the last dose at bedtime on an empty stomach. It may take a while to kick in but you should be pole vaulting soon out of bed if L-a has an effect on you. (It doesn’t do anything for some.)

I’m 36, and I’ve been pumping about two weeks. I haven’t yet experienced any nighttime/morning wood. I’ve also come to suspect that I may be in the early stages of ED (I haven’t done any real research though.) For the past several years, my erections have been a lot softer and I haven’t had any nighttime/morning wood that I’ve ever noticed. The fact that I don’t have any trouble getting it up has kept me from talking to my doctor about ED. I think I’ll ask him “if Cialis is right for me” the next time I see him, even though PE is working on getting me stronger erections.

Hey thinktank, I take a lot of the same stuff as you but not everything you do. I was rattling a little bit myself so somewhere along the line I started changing what I take but was trying to maintain certain ones such as the Arginmax, Horney Goat Weed with Maca, and L- Carnitine. I did take a break of a couple months from taking anything. Boy, it crept up on me, I really started to notice the difference so I started taking again. Going back to the subject of morning wood since that is the subject of the thread. I generally have always had the morning woody but I think more so if I have had a good sleep. Not necessarily 10 hours or anything like that but a few goods hours of sleep and I can’t roll over. LOL!

Now I noticed you also take Lysine, now somewhere else, probably in the Supplements section I read something about Lysine countering the effects of Arginine. Someone else might be able to shed some light on that subject, but maybe it had something to do with your original question.

I’m kind of surprised that the Cialis doesn’t give you pretty rampant nocturnal erections.

The 72 hour method works very often and on a variety of causes of ED. Now, if it only wiped out these little, tiny lines at the corners of my eyes? :)

Reference the rattling: I take all of these supplement in powdered form since the prices are much more reasonable buying in bulk powder. All of the amino acids I take are set out in Dr. Ronald Klatz book, “Grow Young With HGH.” In that book, he argues for L-Lysine to be taken with the other amino acids that I have listed above. My doctor friend has taken them all and has noticed a profound difference in his personal life. He even states he is regaining hair color in his sixties.

Avocet, on the cialis issue, I have some Chinese cialis and some Indian Cialis. It is not as potent as Eli Lilly American cialis and I get by well. Both seem to be at the most 10 mg of tadalafil at best. However, when I take 20 mg of Lilly cialis, the effect is much more pronounced on erectile quality. My philosophy is to take as little prescription meds as you need.

Getting back to pumping, my involvement in one part here on this great website is to learn anything that can benefit me naturally without resorting to prescription drugs. Jelging has made an impact on nighttime wood and I am really hoping that pumping will help with restoring youthful levels of nighttime wood and morning wood.

Avocet: If you are my age and only have lines at the corners of you eyes, you are ahead of the age game. Quick Question to you and anyone who wants to respond: I jelg with a power jelger in the morning. This seems to be much more of an intense jelg than hand jelging. I pump in the evening, having started just this week. It seems my dick has some mild fluid build up and getting a good erection is slower and more difficult. Am I overdoing it by power jelging and pumping all in the same day? I do stretches for 5 minutes after a 10 minute rice sock warm up, then the power jelging for 25 minutes followed by lots of time in the rice sock.

Anyway, to be specific, If you pump, should you cut back on jelging and maybe alternate pumping and jelging on different days? I know I have got to find a balance especially factoring in my age. I just want to know what works for guys who pump and jelg. I see in Pumping 101 that you jelg between pumping session. If there are threads out there that have addressed this, I would appreciate someone linking them in. Thanks.

The slow ride to a good erection started after introducing pumping along with the power jelgs so that tells me I need to balance the two out……
