Hey, Bib:

Thanks for the great hanger. I’ve been so busy hanging the last two days haven’t let you know I received it two days from the time you received the money. Pretty quick service.

It is obvious that a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the design. I’m glad I went with the starter. I was ready to buy a used full sized Bib from another member until I read an excellent thread by Stillwantmore about the advantages of the starter over the full sized hanger. I believe he is right. The smaller the hanger, the more usable space along the shaft to be used when one spot gets too sore. The Theraban is great also, much better than sports wrap. Can’t believe I’ve tormented my poor dick with homemade hangers and wrap for so long. I’m fulcrum hanging 17 pounds as I type this.

I second that Big Girtha, I love my Bib Hanger.

Sometimes getting it on just right takes some tweaking, but I cannot imagine a better designed hanger. I’m up to almost 25lbs now in my routine, and it’s pretty comfy (well, relatively speaking, it’s as comfy as hanging 25lbs off your dick could possibly be).

My hat is off to Bib and all the work he put into making the Bib Hanger.

Postatem obscuri lateris nescitis.

Yeah, when I first got mine I just had to see how it handled the higher weights. I hung 21 lbs for about 10 mins. I probably good have rode out the twenty mins but didn’t want to make myself too sore for my routine. I’m not quite up to that weight yet.

I just invested in one myself and it works better than expected. Very comfortable and grips very good. I’ve read that some guys have problems with it slipping with 15 pounds or more but I’ve hung 20 and it worked fine. I think it has to do with how a guy wraps, not the hanger.

Anyway, I would highly recommend the starter Bib.

Geez, thanks guys. Keep up the good work.

ligiment stretching and healing

Bib, I haven’t seen any threads concerning ligament stretching and healing. I ran across a very good rundown on the phases of ligament healing. http://www.treatingpain.com/pages/a…_ligaments.html It obviously is dealing with joint ligaments but the principles can be applied to what we are doing. From the understanding of what happens when the ligs are over stressed and return to the proper length for joint functioning, we can better understand in our case how to make them stay stretched. I have changed my routine thusly: dual fulcrum stretch, followed by very light weight ADS using a wench and a knee band coupled with rubberbands. I’ll hang when I can to make sure I’ve had a good stretch but in my opinion the ADS after is what will keep the results.

Seems that the need for heavy stretching all day is unnecessary. This certainly makes for a more comfortable day. It appears all that is really necessary is to keep just a small amount of stretch to keep the ligs from shortening during the last phase of healing. I think the above article also explains why many guys plateau then when they change something they start growing again. A few days off and whala they’ve healed and the ligs have gained strength. What we really want to do is keep the ligs in phase 2. To start growing again all we need to do is give one good stretch to start the healing process and then keep up just enough pressure to allow us to keep the stretched condition from completing the last phase or the returning to normal ligament length.

Monty,

There are a bunch of them within this section, but I do not know where. I guess the next time someone bumps those threads, we need to reference the links somewhere.

WOW, what a great link, and an interesting read. I really appreciate you posting it. This is essentially what I tried to do during my hanging career, but it took me a lot more stress that what you are describing above. You might be underanticipating the strength of the penile ligs, or the progress that can be made at any one time.

It is not the healing in the extended state that is the problem, but getting to the extended state in the first place, and then again, and again, at a multitude of foci all through the ligament or tunica collagenous tissue. This is what is required to make measureable, significant gains in a timely manner.

If creating the deformation was a one time event, PE would be an easy game. But it takes many, many of these events to even see a little progress.

It might be a little tougher than that, but you have the general idea.

Ligament Stretches

Oh, I didn’t mean to imply that you only needed one stretch and that was it, rather the ADS between normal hanging or stretches should bring about quicker results.

I was specially impressed with the influence that aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication has on the healing process. Since I take an aspirin a day for the last 5 years I wonder how much effect that has had on my current results. Last winter (2002-2003) I twisted an ankle and it failed to heal correctly leaving me with a slight limp. A year later I went to a surgeon that sent me to a physical therapist who put me on Propreception strengthening exercises which brought stability back to the ankle joint. My point here is that my injury was probably hurt by the aspirin I was taking at the time and subsequently could be helping in the progress of PE.

I’m keeping pretty good data recording time spent and results. I’ll get back in a month or two with what happens. I really feel that things are moving along. I wish that we had a controlled measurement system but alas we have to rely on long duration periods before results can be considered permanent. Just for record sake I’m 7X5.5 as of about a week ago.

Have you experienced any shrinking with time off from exercises?

Monty,

Hmm, interesting about the asperin. I also have taken a low dose of asperin every day for many years.

>Have you experienced any shrinking with time off from exercises?<

Actually, I got up to 10.75 EL before stopping hanging altogether. I believe this was in what I considered my maintanence phase, trying to cement my last gains. Then, a few months after stopping, I measured 10.5 again, which is what I wanted (or rather my wife wanted).

Bib - I hope you’re not tired of being asked - what length did you start at and how long did it take? (I’m sure you’ve been asked this a gazillion times :) ) Thanks

springer,

>what length did you start at and how long did it take?<

I started at a wee bit less than 6 inches EL and 5 inches girth. The entire process took about 3.5 years.

That’s inspirational :) Thank you.

Read Bib’s History guys. It’s a great thread started by a great guy with a truly great story to tell.
