The strap from LeLuv is slightly narrower, which may fit with their headpiece, but it leaves some extra room with an X4 headpiece and making it less secure. The strap material is also more pliable than an X4 strap, which may cause them to have a shorter lifespan. X4 straps are firm, then slowly soften with use, so a strap that starts out really soft seems like it won’t last as long.
You could try shimming the straps using the penny trick.
I coincidentally stockpiled the X4 straps before they went out of business. I believe I’m snapping a strap every 200 or so hours. Another trick I learned to lengthen the lifespan of a strap is to leave one side locked in place and only enter and exit from one side. As soon as I see a “nick” on the edge of that strap, I then anchor it down and begin to enter and exit from the other side. Eventually a “nick” will develop on that side too and the strap will snap. However, this technique has doubled the life of my straps. One challenge with this approach was developing my entry method using both the left and right side of the strap, calling for a bit of ambidexterity, but I have been successful to that end.
