How To Adjust Tension

How To Adjust Tension

Can someone please explain to me how to adjust tension in an extender? I tried reading thoughtful golds post about it but I still had trouble understanding.

What extender do you have? Does it have springs?

Initial: 7” BPEL; 6” NBPEL; 5.25” - 5.5” MEG

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.

Yes it’s a spring extender. It’s an off brand from China lol

I’m not sure which part of TG’s thread or which part of adjusting the extender is giving you a concern so I will try and be basic. Sorry if I am re stating part of the process you understand.
…….
If the extender is laying on the table you can see that it is fully extended, meaning you cannot hold the base and pull the sled outwards to make it longer. The springs are fully extended.

You can push (compress) the sled towards the base, which compresses the springs inside the rods and shortens the length of the extender. The further you compress the springs the more resistance you feel in the sled as it moves towards the base. Also note that as you compress the sled the rods are moving closer to the tension marks until you reach the last tension mark and the sled cannot be moved further towards the base and the extender is as short as it can get.

The resisitance you feel as you push the sled towards the base is the springs compressing and pushing back to force the sled out., i.e., trying to make the extender longer. This resistance is what stretches your penis out when properly strapped in the extender.

There are three ways to adjust the length of the extender:
1) adding or removing rod sections will adjust the distance between the base and the sled
2) unscrewing the rod from the base knurled nut (upper rod in TG’s 5th picture)
3) unscrewing the base knurled nut away from the base (bottom rod in TG’s 5th picture)

The knurled nut is what TG calls the thumb dial.

When strapping the extender onto your penis, you need to compress the sled towards the base and keep it compressed while strapping in. You also want to try and stretch your penis out while compressing the sled in. Three hands would be helpful here. I pull my glans out with two fingers and compress the sled with the palm of the same hand, then strap in with the other hand.

When you are strapped in and you release the sled, your penis should begin to be stretched out by the compressed springs trying to push back to their relaxed position. Ideally, you do not want to be strapped in with the extender at full extension. You want the extender to have some compression.

The next step then is to set the tension. Let’s assume that we have compressed the extender slightly with our penis in it. We can see that the rod has moved close to the first tension mark. We then start unscrewing the rod just above the base knurled nut, adjusting both rods to the same amount of turns. As you unscrew the rod you will see the rod attached to the sled getting closer to the tension mark. Keep unscrewing until you reach your desired tension.

Check your tension every 10 min or so, adjusting as necessary to keep your desired tension level.

In some cases you will need more distance than the rod can give. In this case you will unscrew the rod as far as you can and then start unscrewing the knurled nut.

If after unscrewing the rod and the knurled nut you have not reached your tension setting, you will need to removed a rod section and try again.

Hope this helps.
