Why don't penis size correlation myths die off?

Not in relation to dick size, but at least it explains my quickly receding hair line :chuckle:

Because individuals for whom this myth is real likes to announce it. And they do certianly get alot more sex than than their less endowed brothers.

I don’t know if higher testosterone on its own actually equals a larger penis, otherwise all the guys who are really hairy would also have large penis’ and other than Ron Jeremy… I don’t think that is true.

My ring fingers are subsantially longer than my index fingers. I was born of average penis size. So much for that theory. :)

Wait the theory is that testosterone in the body causes to ring finger to grow longer? I always thought excess testosterone hindered growth because it caused growth plates to fuse.

Those growth plates then turn into an exo-skelaton, and then you get the craving to eat human flesh and lay eggs down their throats into their chest…. and now there’s these other guys with dread-locks on steriods hunting them… or was that a movie….

My personal believe is, that so many other biological topics do work like this, you can see a lot from people’s hands and feet and especially face if you’re into it and really spend years on it*, it just doesn’t affect on others and penis size is one of those others. But if you just say it doesn’t affect anything and is all made up then people who believe them will also believe the wrong ones since you were wrong with the true ones.

*I hate hobby scientists and hobby psychologists who read some stuff in a book and then think they’re professionals. I see that all the time like “draw this or that” and then “oh you drew the house like this that means…”. Same with dreams, most of them don’t mean anything, and it’s the same with many or those the penis size theses. Or all.

Why don’t these myths go away? Because then the people who keep pushing them as fact would have to either learn the facts or go find something else to do.

I still think it’s amusing that there are stickers on gas pumps that warn that having a cell phone on while pumping your gas can cause a spark that can start a fire. In reality, the only way to start a fire with a cell phone is to call one of your buddies in organized crime and arrange an “accident.”

I think they also stick around because they work really well into jokes and flirting etc, even when people know they aren’t true.

I think that’s partly true. They do work really well into jokes but I don’t think many people actually KNOW they aren’t true. For example a physically bigger guy with big hands and feet will probably be thought to have a big dick. Now this plays into his favor, if he happens to not have one it’s not like he’s going to come out and say “c’mon guys I have a small penis, that stuff isn’t true.” If he happens to be lucky and have a big unit, he’ll probably exploit the “correlation” to his favor, further giving people a false account of the relationship. Furthermore, if a smaller guy happens to have an above average penis, he might still be insecure about it, so it’s not like hes going to proclaim “I have small features but my dick is huge.” For example I have always been slightly above average (at least length wise), and my head is too but I was still always insecure about it because I bought into the rumors.

Correlation can go either way. Big things come in small packages. Skinny guys (and tall) guys have big units, etc. Different people may rely on different combinations of body characteristics to deduce penis size.

Say a girl’s initial guess would be bigger body = bigger penis (a reasonable assumption) however, given an only small correlation, she might as well meet a guy who is 5’6” with a 9 incher (happened to a friend of mine). Now when she sees a not-so-tall guy she’d probably give him more attention than before.

It happened to me too. When watching adult movies I noticed that guys with a particular shape of a nose (not a big nose btw) had bigger penises. Now when I see such type of a nose in the real life, I instinctively

think that that person have a big penis.
