Hey,

I’m just starting here. Currently I’m 6.75” long (bone pressed, but I have very low fat so it doesn’t really change) and 4.5” around. Already, it’s thinner at the base and thickest right behind the glans. I want to work just girth (the length doesn’t matter to me). My goal is 5.25” girth. Also I would like to improve my flaccid dimensions.. Flaccid it’s about half an inch long and about the girth of my index finger (it’s really tiny!)

Anyways, on to the question:
I was doing the newbie technique with the jelqs, but it seems that this will just make the extant baseball-bat-like shape worse. I tried flipping my hand over and pinching as close to the base as possible, squeezing between my thumb and forefinger, and then kegeling. I can get my penis to expand quite a bit this way, and it also shows many veins (I didn’t even know there were so many there!). I think if I kegeled too hard I could hurt myself, but it’s easy to tell when that is going to happen. Do you guys think this method will be effective? Or am I wasting my time?

Sounds like this might be something to experiment with later. I wouldn’t push it too much in your newbie stage. But hey, I’m a newb as well, so maybe I don’t know best.

Ethanlh, this method is effective for girth and also extremely dangerous.

In my own opinion, it is better to have a small hard penis rather than a limp 8” dong.

Quantum, I got broken capillaries on my penis while using this method. This method, I believe is called clamping, you should find enough information on this website.

The method I used though was a bit different, I clamped (with my fingers using the O.K grip) while fully erect and then keggelled. I carried on stimulating (edging) and keggelling myself while being clamped.

These caused more blood to enter my penis, thus expanding it. I do not remember over what period of time I did it, but I found out I gained quite some girth.

You are not correct padawan. Clamping is done with a cable clamp, not manually, and it’s done for an extended period. People typically do three 8-10 minute sets with a cable clamp at 80% or so erection - edging to maintain that level of engorgement for the full 8 (or 10) minutes. Clamping is an advanced exercise and one of the riskiest. Done properly it can be very effective. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, shall we?

Also, broken capillaries, while not desirable, are not really an injury, or at least not one that will affect the penis functionally. It’s really just a bruise. This is fairly common as people learn to do the exercises properly. Nothing to worry about, just a sign that you’re doing something with a bit too much force. A heads up from your body, if you will.

FYI: if you want to know, it’s Kegel (always capitalized, as it’s Dr. Kegel’s name). Declensions would be spelled Kegel-ed, Kegel-ing, Kegel-er, etc., although some people do lose the hyphen.

Hi ethanlh, welcome to Thunder's Place.

You can’t Kegel too hard and hurt yourself. Not from the Kegel, anyway.

I’m not quite sure what you’re describing, to be honest, however it doesn’t sound all that dangerous to me. It seems like you are doing some sort of arcane version of a squeeze. Unless you’re using extreme force, or holding it for a very long duration (like 20 minutes or more) most squeezes won’t hurt you.

I’d stick with the Newbie Routine for at least three months, were I you.

Girth is frequently trickier to gain (although not for everybody), and 3/4 of an inch doesn’t sound like a big difference, but it is. Personally, I’d recommend to jelq at the upper end of your erection level - say 70% to 80%, as this seems to encourage girth growth.

While you’re doing the Newbie Routine read up on squeezes, pumping, and clamping. These are girth focused exercises/routines. Jelqing doesn’t usually promote a bat shape, but if you’re really concerned you can reverse jelq in order build up the base. Maybe do 50/50 for a while and see how it works for you.

Learn and use the search function. If you have a question you can post it in the thread which deals with it. But try to be as self-sufficient as possible; there’s a lot here so you should be able to find something that relates to what you’re looking for. On any given thread about a topic, you’ll notice that the bottom of the page has a few related topics based on key words. This is another way to familiarize yourself.

Also, check dates of posts. Sometimes the threads are old and the topic has moved on. A common newbie error is to resurrect a three-year-old thread and address a question to a member who is long gone.

It’s not good to bruise yourself, but it’s not the end of the world.

There’s a certain amount of this that comes with the territory of PE. It’s part of why we so strongly urge people to stick with the Newbie Routine for a full three months, as you start to learn how best to put effective levels of stress on your penis without going too far.

Red spots and bruises are often part of the learning curve.

Take stretching for an example. You want it to be firm, you want to breathe into the stretch, and you want it to approach a level of pain without actually being painful. Common error is to pull as hard as you can. Not good. But you don’t want go too gently, because you do want to accomplish something. Get me? Same with jelqs and (eventually) squeezes.

Since I have your attention, I will take this opportunity to stress the value of using heat.

A five minute warm-up is recommended, and should definitely be done as a minimum -every time, but many vets here believe it’s best to keep the tissue warm for the whole time (Infra-Red lamps have gained popularity for that reason).

People start their own progress threads to keep themselves motivated and as a way of having specific questions answered. There’s also, at the bottom of most every page, a link called PE Data Site where you can record, and track your progress. Many vets recommend taking beginning measurement pictures; whether you post it or not (which is completely up to you) it’s not a bad way to see how far you’ve come, say, in a year or so.

What else?
