Hey all, been a Thunder’s member for a long while now, unfortunately I’m experiencing a new, sustained problem in my life and it is really starting to affect my confidence and happiness. For the past year, my sex drive has been in noticeable decline, I’ve gone from jerking off 4-5 times per week to once a week, and I have to kind of work myself to do it. My erections are weak, I wake up morning after morning, not even able to conjure up decent wood. I rarely find myself dreaming about pussy, a year ago I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

The funny thing is I’m only 30 years old, I look like I’m 25, and physically (muscular and cardio) in the best shape of my life. I mean I’m a lean 175 lbs, a lot of muscle. I look good with my shirt off, but I feel anything but a man, I look at women with half interest, and it is hard to excite myself up to get an erection. I was a little concerned months ago but I thought I was pushing myself too hard in the gym, or that my immune system was compromised somehow. Now, I’m very confused. I eat healthy, trying to get a balance of low fat, quality carbs and protein, and I exercise 4-5 days a week. I also get at least 7+ hours of sleep every night, but I always feel tired. You’d think my hormone levels would be off the charts, but they have tanked. I’m not sure what to do, and I’m starting to feel real shitty about it. I really want the drive back and get into a fun relationship, but if you don’t have a sex drive or very weak one like me, there is no motivating factor, and I will tell you life is becoming very stale very quickly, especially at age 30. Has anyone gone through this, at this young of an age, and found out what the problem was? Anyone have any solutions? I’m really unhappy with myself right now, a pathetic excuse for a man.

First of all, has your stress level increased recently?

Secondly, have you used steroids on a prolonged basis?

Third, have you done a full blood work analysis and STD test?

Fourth, have you had many sexual partners?

I’m probably the least stressed I’ve ever been. I’m financially secure, happy with family and friends, happy with health, other than my near total loss of sex drive. It’s still present, but very weak.

Never used steroids, I’m a healthy guy in that respect.

Never done blood work and don’t know much about it. Don’t have STD’s since my last test 3 years ago.

I have not had many sexual partners for the last 3 years. In fact, sex has come to a near standstill. Last time I had sex was 8 months ago, was a first date and she liked me, she was beautiful and I couldn’t even keep up an erection then. I made her cum through fingering and oral, but my boner just wasn’t doing the job. She dumped me a couple weeks later and never game me the 2nd chance to fuck her. I know without a doubt that if I was rock hard and fucked her silly, I’d still be fucking her now. But even then, my erection is merely ok, hovering around the 80% level, never more than that. About 4+ years ago, I got hard when the wind blew, and didn’t have problems. In fact, I had women wanting to fly across states to fuck because previous lays were great. That seems so far away from my current state, I can hardly remember those times.

What can blood work tell? Would you recommend a urologist or someone different? Thanks for taking the time to ask questions, I’m pretty desperate, I feel like I’m 60 years old, maybe even the old guys have it better lol.

Your blood work can tell you if you have any problems with your immune system.

Also a testosterone test wouldn’t hurt you. I don’t know what came first, erection problems, or low sex drive, but right now I can guess you are suffering from both.

Are you still active in PE?

Understanding what came first - low sex driver, or weak erections - will definitely give a more precise place to point the finger.

Since you mention the urologist, it might not be a bad idea to check if you have a venous leak, but before heading down that road I suggest we try to figure out which came first.

I’ve gone through short phases like that.

My last one was right at the beginning of my PE phase and what it basically boiled down to was,I wasn’t eating enough calories and exercising too hard/frequent and working too hard/long.

Once I upped my caloric intake & reduced my hours in the gym & some at work it returned in it’s full glory.

Make sure you’re getting a lot of fats in your diet,healthy fats of course but just get them in there because they will make a world of difference to your strength and testosterone levels. You seem to be a bit of an exercise buff so you will know what foods have good fats and which don’t.

Hopefully it’s as simple as that,if not then it’s off to the doctor you go!

Thanks again for the responses. Thatcat, I would say my erection levels tapered off before my sex drive. Erections were becoming weaker, over the past year, maybe a little longer. My sex drive has started dropping a little before the end of 2008. It appears to be a steady decline since then.

I have not been active in PE for about 1+ month, the reason is because of how weak my erections were and how hard it was to maintain them for PE workouts. Also my sex drive has plummeted to new levels, that was the final nail in the coffin to stop my PE workouts. I was being pretty consistent with them at the first of 2009, and actually was seeing gains again, albeit I could only do my PE workouts every other day, otherwise my erections would tank completely. My PE workouts are less intense than the average workout, as I’ve found I’m prone to easily injuring my dick with the exercises. I’ve only done manual exercises btw. Whats really hilarious, is that I had the largest recorded erection I ever had about 2 months ago, god damn thing was about 7.5” NBP, a little over 8” BP.I coudln’t believe it. I was infuatuated with it all day, kept taking bathroom breaks because I couldn’t believe the size of it. Later in the evening it had subsided slightly in size, then after erection levels dropped off again, have not seen that size since then. I have absolutely no idea how it happened, I had only done 2 workouts that week. It’s left me more confused than ever with my dick and how PE works. But that is a side story, I just want a working dick again, and erection quality and sex drive is more important than anything else at the moment.

Kooljohn: There may be some truth in your post, I wonder if I’m pushing myself too hard in the gym and not feeding myself enough? Sometimes I feel like I’m always eating, but I will try to up my intake even more. Lately though I’ve dropped some belly fat and the abs are starting to look really good. I also find my strength going up consistently all the time, so I know I must be doing something right with my diet, I’m the strongest i’ve ever been in my life. I would think that wouldn’t be possible if I wasn’t eating enough calories or quality ingredients. It’s possible I still may not be getting enough calories, or wide variety. I’m currently not taking any multivitamins, I may add a quality multivitamin to see if I’m deficient in any area. As far as consuming fat, I think I get enough. I’m eating cheese, egg yolks, etc to get fat in all my meals, but not so much that it is making me fat.

It’s not that I’m bored, its that I have no drive. I rarely jerk off, about once a week. I just don’t have the drive to do it more than that. I wish the problem was as simple that it was just boredom, but it is clearly something physiological. I just wish I knew what. I used to be into porn a lot, but I don’t have a strong desire to look at it. I remember when I was checking out porn all the time because I was very horny, now I dont watch it at all because I don’t feel horny anymore.

No, drug free in all ways. I’m not taking any prescriptions of any sort. I eat healthy, exercise 4 days a week, get 7 hours sleep daily, which is more than many in today’s fast paced society. I was doing a search on the net and saw another guy in my exact predicament, stating he was in the best shape of his life but erections were really weak and his sex drive was lacking. He didn’t seem to get any responses for his issue though. At least I know I’m not the ONLY guy out there dealing with this, however it is rare considering it appears I am doing everything right that conventional wisdom says you should do to be healthy. I’ve read that the penis is a thermometer for a mans health though, and if your erections or drive is weak and you are living a healthy lifestyle, something more serious could be going on. That’s a little scary to me.

Other than depression going underground, I can’t think to anything else. Speak of that with your Doc, or you already have?

I have two thoughts, maybe you are doing too much exercise and are burning yourself out? Recently I have stepped-up the amount of cardio and resistance work i’m doing and I must say I feel knackered physically and mentally at times. Maybe take a few days off and certainly ensure you are getting the right balance in your vits and minerals as well as food. Also remember rest is important.

Certainly I feel you maybe need a general health check-up. Go for some bloods etc just to make sure everything is OK.

However, in truth your situation sounds like a bit of depression. There is no shame in that and help is available.

Have you ever tried tribulus, or horny goat weed? I had the same problem as you, then I recently started a new weight lifting program, and started taking ‘ultimate male fuel’ from a company called ‘Gen-tec’, it’s packed with zinc, magnesium, tribulus terrestris and horny goat weed, the idea behind it being that the herbs and vitamins used promote extra testosterone production for increase strength in the gym, but since I started taking it I’ve suddenly got a massive sex drive like I’m a teenager again, with raging erections.

I’m not sure if it would work for everyone but it may be worth a try, and even it doesn’t help your penis may still help in the gym? Though I would say try a week off PEing, don’t masturbate for a week, and don’t watch pornography of any type hopefully after a week off you’ll get your drive back, but don’t worry I think everyone has slumps like this now and again. It’s usually more a psychological thing, once you lose your erection during sex once you start panicking every time and spend more time concentrating on not losing your erection than how good the sex is.
