Thumb Sprain from PE

I keep spraining my thumb (the pain comes from the joint of the thumb nearest to the palm) while doing stretches or Ulis, it’s been 3 times now and whenever I have them, I have to pause PE for about a week to recover. Can anyone give me advice on this?

I already did that, now the thumb on my other hand feels like it’s about to get sprained. *Sigh* Am I doing something wrong?
