The harm in not ejaculating

I was wondering if anyone new the harm in only ejaculating about five times in a seven month period.

It was believed at one time that infrequent ejaculation contributed to prostatism and prostatitis.

This is still believed, luvdadus, at least by my internist and urologist both of whom suggest “frequent” ejaculations as one means of reducing bacterial count within the prostate.

I asked one of them what “frequent” meant in this context and was amused that he didn’t seem to have a handle on what that meant either; but he decided that maybe 3 x week was probably frequent.

Well I believe it too. It was how I was trained. However right it may seem in theory the reality may be different. I had to smile when I read that your doctor seemed not initially to have specific recomendations on frequency then just took 3/week out of his hat. Hey thats fine and probably a reasonable number but in reality not based on evidence - just theory (much like the notion that frequent ejaculation hindered pe gains). I’m going to recommend more frequent ejaculation as I always have for prostate sufferers untill the evidence contradicts me (and even then what’s the harm?).

My internist and urologist said that frequent ejaculations were important to avoid prostatitis. When I was in my thirties, I would sometimes not ejaculate to extend the sex sessions, and I developed prostatitis. After that I stopped “holding back.” My internist mentioned to me one day when several well known men had revealed that they had prostate cancer, that they probably were not having enough sex. Interesting, huh?

I read something about increased prostate cancer in priests and monks and other chaste men.

You have to clean out the pipes every now and then so that you dont give a chance for anything to brew and grow—it makes intuitive sense to me :)

Those are pretty much the words my internist used. It does make a hell of a lot of sense. I have a buddy who just had his cancerous prostate removed, hopefully in time to save his life. He said to me last night, “I wish they had told me all these things twenty years ago,” [i.e., prostate health behavior] “It’s kinda late now.”

I’ve been wondering about this as of late as well, especially since I learned the ability to have many orgasms without ‘holding off’ ( I believe it is a somewhat tantric method ), I can see how building your arousal through sex or masturbation several times but not ejaculating could be harmful, but what of these ‘multiple-orgasm’ techniques in which you just seem to manipulate the energy in your body? Nobody seems the wiser. :(

Still…..it’s not as though this tantric method has replaced more traditional methods of relief, so I don’t think there should be any problems.

3x a week? Damn, I thought it was 3x a day… looks like I’ll be saving money on tissue paper.
