Lotion of Choice for Hanging?

It’s starting to get cold where I live and I’ve noticed recently that my skin has been getting raw while hanging. I’ve been using unrefined coconut oil as a moisturizer since that’s what I had laying around. However, I’m curious what other members use specifically for hanging. Also, when do you typically apply it?

If you’re using a vacuum hanger, stay with oil, or with creams, which are oil based.

Lotions are water based, and will dry out inside the valve in some vacuum caps, and I killed several valves that way. Not even my ultrasonic cleaner would get all the dried gunk out.

I’ve used baby oil, mineral oil and olive oil. I usually don’t rinse after, even if get a bit of precum. I just wipe a little with tissue so I don’t make anything else oily.

Mrs. Andy contributed a tiny bottle of Vitamin E oil with a cute little rocker-cap-thing that makes it easy to get small amounts out. I put two or three drops in the cap and spread it with a fingertip.

I use so little of the oil that it has lasted a long time. I’ll refill the bottle with something else when it is empty. The E oil works fine, but I don’t care for the odor, and every now and then some gets pulled through the valve into the suction hose, which is how I found out it tastes bad too. Though honestly, it might be the brand. And I’m pretty sure the bottle is at least ten years old; I don’t know if the stuff has a shelf life.
