Loose or gain when taking breaks from overtraining

It was pretty hard to get into a routine, especially with everything else going on in my life. But I guess I overtrained and after 4-5 days I still think I need more time. I’m not reaching my max measurements that I did lets say a week or so ago.

Will I gain from the break, or lose from the break, but then gain it back again?

In my limited experience , time off will help an injury or over training .

And any loss will come back quickly when you resume your routine .
