Importance of edging

I had a porn problem as well and have been PF now for 2 months. I am also 35 years old and had issues with EQ, trust the process and cut out the addiction, things will fall into place eventually. Some take 4 months and others 1 months being PF to increase EQ. It all depends on how long the addiction was and how long the reprogramming of the release of dopamine takes.

You haven’t mentioned what type of PE routine you’re currently doing. If you’re just starting out, as I said earlier, do the Newbie Routine for at least 3 months.

I’m sure that if you give up porn AND consistently do the Newbie Routine, your erections will gradually improve in a month or two.

I’m 60 years old and I get night and morning wood on a daily basis. That’s a testament to my PE routine. I never really had a problem with porn, my PE difficulties came about as a result of getting older and not using my unit on a regular basis.

Before starting PE, morning and night wood for me was a pretty rare thing, hadn’t happened regularly for years. As I said it’s now a daily occurrence.

And my routine includes edging and kegels.

So it really is a combination of all of the above. Just cutting out the porn will help but it may not be enough to get to where you want to be EQ wise.

Hi there. I’m not doing any PE routine. I figure that I shouldn’t do anything for at least 2 weeks.. No porn, no masturbation, no edging, no .. Nothing. :) This is what I assume I have to do, but I could be wrong.

Personally what helped my EQ reset was release by sex. Dont go back to porn or masturbation. Both create and addiction and are like drugs. I stopped edging too because it didn’t help me last longer in bed, so it was just a waste of time for me. These are my experiences.

Idk how people can get off to porn. I can’t even get hard watching it. If I want to watch people have sex, I would just make my own sex tape.

You can wait two weeks before starting your PE routine if you like, that’s entirely up to you. But my advice is to start the Newbie Routine right now, while you’re weaning yourself from porn and not masturbating.

The Newbie Routine consists of simple stretches, jelqing, and kegels. You can add edging later on if you like, after you start to get comfortable with your routine.

No time like the present to start changing your life. And believe me, PE can be a life changing experience if done properly over time. It was and is for me.

I’d get started now.

I’ve been on the porn detox for a week now. Basically no porn no ejaculation. EQ is improved drastically. Morning and evening wood has returned. Would definitely recommend it to anyone 30+. It’s a bit tough at first but the payout is very well worth it.

Yeah, but it’s easier said than done - just have more sex right? Well that’s the problem. My erections generally aren’t rock hard and when I get them, they don’t last very long during sex - 2-3 minutes at most, then I feel the erections getting soft.

Having more sex is the cure? Really? I think that is a recipe for depression as doing something again and again with poor results won’t solve anything.

Just something else I should add. I was watching a video on Youtube last night and this middle aged woman was talking about sex and how she likes slow sex, and after 10-15 seconds my dick was a 10 in erection level terms. Like iron.

Now when I use my hand for manual stimulation it RARELY is a 10. At best, perhaps an 8. So based on this my arousal levels without manual stimulation can eclipse my erection levels WITH manual stimulation by a fairly significant amount.

I have no idea why this is. Again, maybe it’s because my brain is so used to my hands by now. But the fact I can achieve a 10 erection without manual stimulation is proof that I am capable of rock hard erections. My problem is .. I need a specific trigger(s) to get there. It won’t always get there, but at least I know my body is capable.

However when I’m watching TV and I see a beautiful woman even semi-naked I don’t get that rush of blood to the penis. It just doesn’t happen. My arousal triggers are just really weird and I wish I could figure them out.

Maybe by abstaining from porn and masturbation these triggers will be more easily obtained. I have no idea. Maybe I need a fleshlight to improve my erection hardness as it will teach my brain not to rely on my hands for manual stimulation to get hard. Anyone’s thoughts on that?

And maybe I need to abstain from porn to “reset” my arousal levels. But everytime I see some hot girl on TV and I think to myself “I should be having a rock hard erection right now” and it doesn’t happen. So like I said, my arousal triggers are just a bit fucked.

But then when I’m with a real woman, I can achieve an erection, either by just being close to her and naked and just kissing/feeling but the erection level isn’t a 10 and doesn’t last long - after a while I can feel it getting softer and softer. Sorry for the long post everyone, I just feel like I have too many problems here. :( Then on top of that, DE, which you would think is a blessing in disguise but it’s really not. It’s more of a curse.

Thanks for your advice. I’m definitely interested in doing PE as I could always use the extra help. I just wish I could understand what’s actually going on with my body and brain and right now it just feels so alien to me.

Like I said we’re the same age and I honestly think it’s been mostly mental for me. I think I had combo of things happen in my life mixed with a little too aggressive of a PE routine and now my EQ at times suffers from it. A perfect example, about a month ago I was in the middle of foreplay and before I put myself inside my wife I decided to take off the cockring I was using because I felt real hard, something clicked in my brain, that thought of what if I don’t stay hard, well within a minute my dick started going soft and completely ruined the moment. I truly think if I started meditating again and focusing on breathing and positive thoughts about sex and my cock, as silly as that sounds, I think I’d be back on the right track.

I’m most concerned about the lack of morning wood. I feel good, exercise every day, have started cardio but still nothing. I eat good food, and I have plenty of spinach every day with fruit.

Still nothing.

In the morning I can get very strong erections, but I don’t wake up to them. I don’t wake up and think “wow, I have a rock hard erection”. When I woke up in the middle of the night my erection level was flaccid level. I believe morning wood is a sign of good cardiovascular health so I’m concerned given that I put decent effort into my exercise and cardio routines.

I have a relatively low body fat percentage. So I don’t know why I don’t get morning wood.

The biggest EQ killer is stress and tiredness and alcohol. I see your doing cardio and that will help not just with blood circulation but stress and energy levels.

I do recommend jelqing and kegels and maybe a testosterone booster (helps also with energy levels).

No porn and no masturbation helps but isn’t always the cure.

I think this is a process of elimination. I’m going to start off with no porn and no masturbation for a few weeks. Maintain my regular exercise and cardio routine and just see what happens. If I notice any difference/improvement at all.

I’ll keep you all informed of any progress. If I don’t notice any improvement, then I might have to either .. A) Give it more time, or b) think about other possible causes and adjust accordingly.

As a last resort I’ll get a blood test to check my hormone/testosterone levels but I don’t want to go there straight away. I understand doing PE is a must-have for improving erection stamina etc, but if I’m not getting morning wood or if my arousal levels are flat, then none of that is going to help me.

See that’s the one difference, I’m getting good wood throughout the night and in the morning. I actually think I’ve narrowed it down for myself to two things, a supplement and a mental thing.

What supplement are you taking? Funny thing is, I was practising thrusting with a pillow sleeve :D , and just like sex with a woman, my erections will get strong to about an 8 (MAYBE a 9 out of 10), but I can only keep it going for about 2 minutes or so of thrusting in one position until I start to feel it getting softer and softer. The pillow was the same thing.

If I pull out after that and change positions then all bets are off. My erections are hard flaccid and not enough to penetrate. Then I have to get aroused enough for me to penetrate again which might take a few minutes - probably not the end of the world, but it’s probably frustrating for a woman and it’s definitely frustrating for me.

At least with a pillow if I could thrust indefinitely with a very high erection level I would know that my issue was performance anxiety related - since the pillow results in the same types of issues (namely erection strength subsiding after a few minutes), it’s related to something else. That is what I want to improve - erection stamina, keeping a strong erection for longer. If PE can help then I’m all for it.
