Hanging-Extending Question

I am a newbie and I understand that Hanging/Extending is not to be for newbies. However, I am in professional school which gives me a great deal of alone time. I sit in a chair and read about 5-7 hours a day at least. I have been doing a version of the newbie routine about two days on and one day off. I also have started running/lifting weights/boxing.

Now for my question. Do you think it would be very bad to try hanging/extending during my reading time? I do not want to hurt myself but, I feel as though at this point in my life I could benefit from the time sitting down reading in other ways as well. In addition, all of this alone time and a computer = much more masturbation. About 3 times a day. I have also tried to cut this down as well as go on a diet.

Any information appreciated.

After you did the newbie routine for at least 3 months start increasing your stretching time, you can do that too while reading. The reason I suggest stretching is that it is easier to do, safer, cheaper and gives at least the same gains as hanging.

And you dont have to build any weird looking, scary devices
