Hanging and Painful Ligs

I would post this in the hanging forum but I don’t have enough post history yet. I’ve been trying to learn how to hang using the bib starter. I started with 2.5 lbs with 3 sets of 20 minutes. After about 3 consecutive days of doing this I started to have significant pain in my pelvis on the left side. After reading a comment from Bearded Dragon, it sounded like a swollen ligament from hanging. I took some time off all P.E until it felt better. I started up again yesterday doing just 2 sets. After practicing today I started to feel some of that sore feeling again, not nearly as bad as before but I don’t want it to get as bad as it was before. I also don’t want to quit hanging. 2.5lbs seems like such a low weight from reading the forums. Am I doing something wrong?

I feel like your attachment might be off.

What angle are you hanging at?

What kind of wrap are you using?

You also don’t mention warming up. Your right 2.5 pounds isn’t much.

Also what is your PE history? We need more info to fill in the blanks.

I’m hanging BTC. I’m using a HTW with the theraband over it. I do 5 minutes warm up with the rice sock. I did about 6 months of the newbie routine before I decided to try hanging.

Ok first stop all hanging until this pain is gone. Sore ligs and painful ligs are two very different things. Sore ligs are good painful are bad. I also think BTC can be too much for some guys especially right out the gate. If you decide to go back to hanging continue your normal warm up and try hanging straight down. It’s much less intense. Again it could also be an attachment point problem.

I would also suggest you contact bib at his forum with the issue and possibly pics of what your doing.
