been reading a lot... is 10-12 minutes of stretching really enough?

I’ve been doing manual stretches 10-12 minutes a day, but i’ve read in a topic that one CAN stretch as much as he wants, and that it would have potentially positive after-effects. Then, i read about the senior members using extenders or other devices for 10-18 hours at a time. That just makes my 10-12 minutes look absolutely ineffective.

According to gerrykjohnson(?), low-intensity static stretching over a LONG period of time is the key to gaining length… then isn’t 10-12 minutes pretty much nothing?

if your just starting, than it is enough. After several months, you will need more. About 30 minutes stretching is ample when you reached the pinnacle of your routine.

I think that this is not enough time. When you are pretty new to this, 10 min is fine, but after 3 weeks or so, you should spend more time for PE.

The newbie routine is 40 min, you should reach the 40 min after 6 weeks, may be a little bit earlier.

Hey, I have been doing PE on and off for a few months. My routine has usually been about 10 min of stretching and then 30 min jelqing. I have seen some gains from that. Not sure how much of that is from the stretching or the jelqing though. Lately I have been doing it more intense though and don’t really keep track of time that much as well as doing it more than once a day sometimes, but I think you can definitely see gains from 10 min good stretching especially if you do it every day.

i have yet to measure, but i can definitely see a slight difference (not too shabby for 3 weeks). I’m not so sure if i’m ready for 40 minutes, but i do think i can stretch for 20 minutes. The newbie routine is 40 minutes?

The newbie routine is for sure 40 min long.

When you are doing PE since 3 weeks, don’t do 40 min.
Stretch 20 min and after 3 more weeks you should do the 40 min.

i just checked luvdavus’ newbie routine which is the one officially posted by thunder, and it says 5 minutes manual stretch, and to increase it to 10 minutes after 3 weeks. hmm… anyhow, i’ll reach for 40 minutes.
