I have the opposite problem. When I jelq I get harder, not softer. I usually start out at about 20% erection, and jelq up to maybe about 80-85%. Then I stop and wait until it goes back down before continuing.
I used to do jelqs at 100% erection before I figured out the proper way to do them. I ended up with what I believe to be a thrombosed vessel on the left side of my johnson(not sure if it was a vein or lymphatic vessel). Fortunately it went away after a couple of months with no PEing. Needless to say, I try not to ever jelq at a full erection because of that incident.
While everybody is different, I do feel some pressure in my schlong while jelqing. I believe you should feel at least some pressure while doing this exercise. This might help:
When my hand gets near the glans while jelqing, the glans gets bigger as I am pushing blood into it. In addition, I feel some resistance due to the presence of blood. But I don’t squeeze hard enough to the point that it completely halts my ability to jelq.
Jelqing at 40% or so erection may not feel as obvious as it does at full erection (due to the intense pressure a full erection causes), but believe me, they still work. Plus, you can do alot more of them.
