Less Desire To Get Off

Less Desire To Get Off

Hey so I’ve been having problems with my sexual desire overall lately. I just don’t have the need to ejaculate very much recently and it’s affecting my sex life. My EQ has also dropped. I used to (within the last year or 2) feel like I needed to get off every couple days or else I’d feel that urge… now I can go a week or more without having sex or masturbating and feel completely normal and not extremely horny, which is worrying me. Does this have to be a hormonal issue?

A little background. I’m 25 have high muscle, low fat, exercise regularly, don’t drink often, don’t smoke often, hardly ever watch porn anymore, healthy diet (pescatarian) etc… long story short I Am healthy and live a healthy lifestyle one would assume to be conductive of a good sex drive. I have dealt somewhat with ED for as long as I can remember. I used to take performance pills before sex, but PE has allowed me to not rely on them. Still not where I want it to be, but manageable. I’ve even tried taking expensive natural Testosterone boosters lately and it hasn’t done much.
I’m just curious what it could be. I would have to spend a good bit of change on a hormone test as I don’t have health insurance, but I’d do it if necessary. I’ve always been satisfied by getting off once a day or every other day, but if feel like I’m much too young to be experiencing lowered sex drive to this extent. I am in a longer term relationship, but my sex drive is lowered overall as I dont even have desire to masturbate. No medications.

Get your test levels tested. As a man becomes more responsible and structured ge is better at carrying and using stress. But his sex drive goes down.

How about your stress or anxiety levels perhaps raised because of pandemic related issues and there are many. Also are you sleeping well? I think that stress and anxiety would have a big effect on the problems you are experiencing.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Sometimes you can think your healthy but perhaps your not. Are you sure your not deficient in vitamin D? What about optimal recovery for your central nervous system since you said you workout and have muscle mass? Are you getting enough rest?

Are you overly tight? Have you looked into yoga or deep stretching techniques? What about your pelvic floor? A lot of people that lift can develop a right pelvic floor, which absolutely will lead to erecttion issues.

And anxiety and stress. Those are biggies too.

Everything everyone has recommended already is good advice. I’m 45 and started testosterone replacement therapy 4 years ago. It would really be worthwhile to get tested. Anything over the counter that you can ingest as a testosterone booster won’t work…they’re really all garbage. Some natural foods might help boost a little, but if you’re really low on testosterone, the only way is through injections, implanted time release pills, or creams. Currently, I do a testosterone injection 1x/week, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin 3x/week (helps keep your body producing it’s own), and an estrogen blocker 2x/week (when you increase testosterone, estrogen is a byproduct). My current therapy puts me in the 400-600 range (“normal” is 300/350-1100). Do I think it boosts my libido? I’m not sure. I started because I got divorce and noticed ED issues when I was dating. I think it helps, but it definitely helped me put on about 25 lbs of muscle (I started working out more and eating more as well). I still use sildenafil as well. I find that I’m much more eager to have sex when I’m not worried about the equipment working as much.

Thank you all for these replies, there is some great advice here… It looks as if I will test my levels to be sure. Hopefully I can find somewhere to do that for a reasonable price. To elaborate on some talking points:

@Gprent and Djrobins: Stress could absolutely be playing a factor. I try to maintain a quality sleep schedule, but my job makes that difficult sometimes.

@makehergocrazy: I currently take 125mcg of D-3 and get plenty of sunlight, so im not too worried about my Vitamin D intake. But that definitely an important thing to consider. You mentioned having a tight pelvic floor. I honestly feel like that could be very possible. I have tight muscles and need to do yoga. As for my pelvic floor, even doing what would be considered a light kegal workout tires my pelvic floor to the point that it can cause erectile difficulties for even a couple days. That may be an indicator its too tight.
How would relax and condition it?

@obiwan777: I may PM you, I feel like I’m too young to have to get started on that. Also im curious, since its an exogenous source of testosterone, doesn’t that actually lower your own production and sex drive, like some body builders and athletes experience when they roid? I noticed you said you took hcg to combat that, but im curious how that works. Also I would assume its costly.

Has anyone had good results with TRT on their sex drive and ED/EQ?

Either way my EQ is getting better with PE and im just going to get my levels tested. I’ll update on this feed for anyone in the future who may read it. Thanks again for the insight.

Correct.

Yes, it lowers your own production, which is why I also take HCG-human chorionic gonadotropin. That’s the precursor/signaller that tells your body to keep making its own testosterone. That’s why I went with a specialist instead of just my primary care who typically provides a testosterone cream or foam. It’s a delicate balance of it all. That also helps prevent testicular atrophy. It’s not something you mess around with, without being diagnosed with low testosterone to start. Even then, if you have low T, but don’t really have any signs of symptoms, then don’t mess with it either. Normal range is between 300/350-1100. I was sitting at 347. My primary care didn’t want me to start, but I was having symptoms of ED and low libido…plus getting out of an 18 year marriage and going out on the market with voracious 40 year olds. After one poor sexual encounter, I knew I had to do something. I think it does help, but there’s also a strong mental component to it. I gained 25 pounds of muscle from working out and eating more, so that helped with confidence. I tapered off of it for 4-5 months, and definitely noticed the downturn. Your first step is to get tested.
