Anti-estrogens recommendation

I’ve been compiling some information about anti-estrogens and anti-aromatase from an American website which sells sport supplements.

Yeah, read some Google information but it’s fair not enough to take any decision. If somebody knows about this, I’ll appreciate any recommendation. I’m looking for a good balance between effectiveness and safety.

The list of products is:

Agnus castus, chrysin, formestane, diindolymethane (DIM), nettle root extract.

Besides this list, if you know better ones which are NOT pharmaceutical drugs (Arimidex, Nolvadex, etc.) or steroids, please mention it.

The meaning is to combine it with the tongkat ali. Thanks!

6-oxo, (which is a legal steroid).

Hi Gold;

This website also sells 6-oxo and it has very good reviews. The only thing is if this product is really safe or not, I mean, if it’s a steroid (even legal) would it be harmful for health in general and hormonal system like other steroids are.

Of course, the websites which sell this product claim that it’s 100% safe, although they sell it as a revolutionary supplement. Hope you can answer me.

PD: I’ve read many bad reviews over chrysin/formestane

The part about oral steroids that are harmful to the liver is the 17-alpha alkylation that makes them more orally active. 6-oxo might be naturally orally-active, but I do not know for sure. It is not alkylated, so it would not pose the same toxicity risks that typical oral steroids do.

I have not seen any good reviews for chrysin, DIM, formestane, agnus castus, or nettle as far as estrogen suppression. I doubt that the estrogen increase from taking TA would be harmful in any way, in fact a slight increase would give you more strength and size gains than a pure increase in testosterone would. If you are unwilling to use Arimidex, then my suggestion would be to either take 6-oxo along with the TA, or just take the TA and only add an anti-E if you notice negative sides.

All started with Propecia. I’ve been taking it for about 2 years with very good results on my scalp but my libido was dropping down, so after comparing a few products I decided to get tongkat ali. It worked “good” for no more than 2 weeks though I started to feel tenderness in one of my nipples.

That’s why 6-OXO. Anyway, I’ve stopped taking Propecia.

6-oxo isn’t a legal steroid, though it can have some of the effects of one. It’s a permanantly binding aromatase inhibitor. It increases testosterone by throwing the HPTA off-axis. Basically, you’ve always got a balance of testosterone and estrogen. If you have more of one, it is converted to the other. This is what causes some of the side effects of steroid abuse. Too much testosterone and your body converts the excess to estrogen, and you can get gynecomastia. 6-oxo is much like the drugs used to treat breast cancer, it binds to aromatase, the compound that converts various precursor hormones into estrogen, therefore lowering overall estrogen over time. Some of these, like Tamoxifen, only temporarily bind to the aromatase, and it is freed back into the bloodstream eventually. 6-oxo, like Letrozole, binds permanantly, and so is very effective at reducing estrogen. In response, the body produces more of the master hormones to create estrogen, but more of it is converted to testosterone instead, because of the absence of the aromatase.

Too little estrogen is not healthy, however. If you take 6-oxo, or any other anti-estrogen, don’t go nuts. You can get away with mega-dosing some supplements, but remember that this is a potent drug, and it can harm you if you don’t respect it. (Price alone keeps most folks from getting into trouble with this.)

Arimidex is the best AI(aromatase Inhibitor)

Nolvedex is the best Estrogenic Modulator.

There are a couple of others but Adex would be my choice.

You can always add in some Chasteberry for Progesteronic gyno

Novedex isn’t in the same class as A-dex, in fact, it is marketed as a test booster. The study is a bit flawed as the nutritional macronutrient breakdown was not the same in terms of protein which DRAMATICALLY affects the amount of LBM that can be made.

The product also dramatically increases DHT - not a good thing for the hair.

I also do not trust ANY STUDY funded by the company who is making the product being tested,

Who else is going to fund it?

There are two main approaches to dealing with excessive estrogen.

1) Block the effects by using substances that bind to estrogen receptors yet do very little (in some) when they are attached. Sticking a blank key in a lock won’t open it but will prevent a real key from being inserted. This is how Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) such as Nolvadex (tamoxifen) and Clomid (clomiphene) function. Realize this is a simplified explanation.

2) Reduce the actual level of estrogen. Since most estrogen is produced from aromatization (conversion from testosterone), blocking the conversion process knocks the estrogen level way down. Arimidex and similar drugs are known as aromatase inhibitors (AI’s).

Estrogen is not evil. To the contrary, the right amount is essential to good health.

Re: the link to Novedex or whatever brand of ATD, note the date. Do some research on ATD to see what is thought of it today.

Hobby is right…..a good analogy is this:

We all have seen the picture of a leaking dam, and someone puts their finger over the hole to stop the leaking.

In this case - the water is estrogen and the finger is Arimidex.

The paper towels used to clean up the water that has alread leaked out onto the ground are Nolvedex.

Nolvadex is only good for soaking up pre existing levels of Estrogen.

That being said, most males could stand a bit of Anti-esteros, leading directly to an increase in blood T levels.

Without sounding arrogant, IT IS. It isn’t an androgenic anabolic steroid, but a steroid nonetheless. Cortisone is also a steroid, but not an AAS. The term ‘steroid’ was chosen in regard to its effect on liver health.

Tamoxifen is an estrogen antagonist, not an aromatase inhibitor.

Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts are also supposed to reduce estrogen.
