Androgel and PE..........

Androgel and PE..........

I have been pe’ing for around 6 months now with minimal gains but I do visit this board regularly. I recently came across the thread “gain .5” a month with no excerises” I was about applying the androgel to the penis. I found this article interesting.

Yes, that is a very interesting article. Hopefully someone will chime in with a more detailed analysis from a medical perspective.

"Building a weapon of mass destruction" Started: 5.81" x 3.88" Now: 8.5" x 5.0" Goal: 9" x 6"

Probably just the ticket for 2 year old boys trying to PE. Are you 2?

Was that directed at me? Obviously no one here is 2 years old, but in light of the thread previously mentioned, I think the article and sited articles could give some insight. It could all be a bunch of trash or there could be some great conclusion drawn from this. I think it is necessary to be critical, yet open. I think that being apart of PE forum makes being “open” to the unconventional almost a prerequisite.

BD14,

Interesting read, thanks.

I was prescribed androgel about 3 or 4 months ago from a Doctor at the Boston Medical group. Among other things I had told him I had always had what I felt was a lower than normal libido partially due to what I felt was performance issues.

He prescribed androgel, I expressed concern about side effects but he shrugged them off and said they weren’t that common.

Considering he hadn’t even waited for the return of blood tests for my PSA and testosterone levels before presribing this I didn’t fill the prescription. (I still haven’t heard from the office about the results, partly my fault for not following up though).

Last night I read an article in the AARP news bullitin (someone else is a subscriber it I’m not that old) about the growing trend of prescribing androgel.

With so many baby boomers entering there 50’s and beyond Dr’s are prescribing it for increased stamina, muscle growth, to thwart osteoporosis, and to some extent increasing libido.

It seems there is quite a controversy between specialists as to who is the right candidate, some indicating that any loss of quality of life issues that could be related justify the prescribing of it even if testosterone levels are in the normal levels (though usually at the lower end).

Others point to increase in potential acceleration of prostate cancer due to it’s use and that there have not been enough long term studies on the potential harmful effects that this type of hormone replacement might have. (pointing to the recent retract of the AMA endorsement of estrogen replacement for women now that the long term adverse effects don’t seem to offset the potential benefits)

Of course proponents especially the drug companies said this was unfounded. (one months supply was said to cost around $170 at Internet prices)

They didn’t mention anything about topical application to increase penis size, but with the prostate so close in proximity I would be concerned as to the more direct effect it may have on potential cancer acceleration.

There were other caveats as well but I don’t remember them right now.

It always seems that when there is finally an easy answer for something there is also trouble not to far away.

thanks for your post.

Androgel or any testosterone therapy for that matter should have no affect on prostate cancer unless the cancer is already there, and then yes doctors do say that testosterone can spread the growth. In the same vein, excess testosterone may cause hair loss, but only if someone were genetically predisoped to male pattern baldness in the first place. I think low testosterone was a hugely undervalued area of male health, and new research and products like Androgel are a miracle to some men.

Take it from an organic chemistry buff, synthesizing T is not hard. I could make a tube of androgel for 20 or 30 dollars easy.

bigdaddy14, regarding that article, it relates a lot to micropenis. It seems the underdeveloped phallus is very sensitive to testosterone. That only changes after you go through puberty.
