I read on the Mayo Clinic site that jelqing can cause penis disfigurement and pumping can damage your tissues and lead to soft erections. This scares the crape out of me. I hope its not totally accurate.

Wow, so all the doctors prescribing pumping for ED must be fucked in the head.

I disfigured my penis with jelqing, that’s kinda the point. Maybe the Mayo Clinic likes small packages? Personally, I had a preference for bigger, so I took that.

Medical penis pumps are being advertised on TV here in the U.S. as the most effect treatment for ED. Now of course I assume there is some exaggeration going on because they are selling a product on TV, but penis pumps have come a long way as being an acceptable tool for achieving an erection.

We like to use them for getting huge, but what the hell, no matter what you use them for, they work.

The secret is to buy a pump with a gauge and keep the pressure at 5”hg or below to avoid injury.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Ya I was thinking pumping with lower pressure could help prevent injury. Also, it said that the excessive use of a pump that goes beyond the standard ED type use is what could cause damage, I should have specified.

Look I’m not saying they are right or wrong, I am just trying to due my due diligence and make sure I don’t screw my penis up. I would rather have a healthy average one than a damaged/non functional big one.

Pumping can injury your pecker if done incorrectly but so can riding a bike. Most do it safely!

I don’t cycle because there is empirical evidence that it can cause ED and testicular cancer.

I really want to enlarge my penis but I am concerned that PE could possibly be a waste of time or cause catastrophic damage to my penis or both. The fact that I have been a member of this site for four years is irreverent in regards to these issues. If PE can enlarge my penis without damaging it, then PE is for me. End of story.

PE cannot enlarge your penis without damaging it: damage is the basis of the enlargement.

I don’t think marinera is being rude, it’s simply that if you are the type of person who vacillates PE won’t do anything much. So, to deal with your concerns:

It is certainly a waste of time for a proportion of people. Probably a higher proportion of people than would get testicular cancer from cycling.

It seems that PE is perfectly capable of doing this in edge cases. How much of an edge case is hard to tell but I would assume that injuries are under-reported here. Maybe you are an edge case. Better to be safe, right?

I wouldn’t trust a clinic that is named after an emulsion of oil, egg yolk and either vinegar or lemon juice, with many options for embellishment with other herbs and spices.

It’s not better than reaching my PE goals. I mean isn’t that the ideal scenario. I am not going anywhere and I am not about to give up anytime soon. I should not be told to quit PE simply because I am engaging certain important issues. Just because someone has reservations and concerns about PE doesn’t mean they shouldn’t do PE. I am here to learn and hopefully get bigger, not to be bullied.

Do a search for Mayo Clinic on this site and you may understand why people are making jokes.

In regards to safety, the bottomline is that PE is dangerous. No one has tried to hide that - actually, it’s specifically noted in many, many threads on this board. I don’t see why that surprises you.

Have been a few times to Rochester MN, although not for the clinic. But I can reassure you that the name is not derivated from the Mayonnaise, it simply is the name of the founder.

Don’t know if this enhances your level of trust. But in medical professional circles, the name of Mayo is quite a big one, because it was the first clinic to offer multi-discipline 360 approaches in diagnosis and still does today.

This does not automatically mean that whatever they publish is the very essence of truth, but at least has to be considered as important input and serve as a discussion base.

Just my two cents…

You’ve said you don’t cycle because of the risk of testicular cancer and the only evidence I can find of that is weak and from the 80s. Sure there is a link to age and sure more young people cycle but that’s about it.

So, as you choose to play it safe when the evidence is sparse, in one case, it seems reasonable to assume that you’d do the same with PE.

I don’t know your PE history but if you’ve been trying since 2009 and not gained that would be another strong indicator that you are wasting your time.

Absolutely. These reservations normally occur early on. I had reservations. Within a month I had few reservations.

Marinera is not trying to bully you. I am not trying to bully you. That fact that you think we are is, I think, more an issue of your perception. When you ask a question people will try their best to answer that question. When the answer is not necessarily what you expect, it doesn’t mean that people have a vendetta against you.

If you expect to learn from the medical establishment whether PE is legitimate or safe or anything, they can’t really tell you. No large scale studies have been done. What we are left with is empirical data and this has many problems: our data is and always will be incomplete and in all likelihood biased towards success and away from injury.

I’ve been pumping for 14 years. I had a dangerous start with a near catastrophic injury.
I have gained 3/4” in girth and at least 1/2” in length. I get hard morning wood and get really hard erections when I edge after a pump session.
My flaccid hang has improved a lot also.

Maybe it will work for you and maybe it won’t. It definitely will not if you don’t try.

Smoking kills some people and some smokers live into their 90’s.
Nothing is guaranteed.
