I use various tubes; I just bought another. Being an inexpensive model, it has a simple hose barb molded in as part of the tube. I have finally succumbed to the convenience of the quick connects; rather than wrestling the hose off when I take the tube to the bathroom to wash it, I just use the connector.
The last time I added a quick connect I used a standard LeLuv female connector with a 1/8” pipe thread on the end. I had to buy a female pipe coupler and a barb fitting at the hardware store to adapt from the hose to the quick connect fitting. Then I used a short piece of hose to connect it to the tube.
I needed a new quick connect, so I turned to eBay and did a search… and found that LeLuv makes the female fittings with barbs instead of pipe threads. That saves the hassle and expense of buying pipe fittings and hose barbs; just cut a short piece of hose, jam one end on the tube and the other on the quick connect, and it’s beer o’clock.
Maybe the barbed quick connects have been there all along and I didn’t notice, but I was happy to find them today,
