It is tight, so you might need vice grips to get it apart and you will gouge the exterior of barrel a bit, but like I said, this is a last resort measure.

Unless of course the pump is brand new and you can get a replacement from whom ever you bought it from.

I was about to give up on my pump when I decided to go back through older post and came up with this gem.

I dropped my pump and knocked the needle from 0hg to 5hg. Not a big problem, it still measures properly (or at least still consistently). A couple of weeks later I dropped it again. What can I say, I like to walk around and do other stuff while I’m pumping. After the second drop I noticed that my pump was not keeping a seal. It took me a few days to get frustrated with it and examine my set up. The flexi tube from the pump to the tube had a small hole in it right at the pump side. An easy fix to trim my hose down a bit. All was working again…..until I pumped up some fluid from the tube into the pump. Thankfully for this post by gprent I was able to unscrew the pump and wipe up all the moisture that was causing the pump not to work. Thanks to all the persons posting on here and contributing to making this a great go-to site.

Cheers, my starting stats 17-02-2016

FG=4.0" (10.16cm) EG= 4.5" (11.4cm)

I have been experiencing loss of pressure for some months and after trying all the usual basic checks and fixes I decided it was something to do with either male or female connectors and ordered replacements accordingly. Imagine my surprise when fixing the female connector to the cylinder head only to find that the disc had come loose and easily lifted off in my hand. The cylinder is a quality product from a well known manufacturer, but has been subject to a lot of use over the years. Anyway, I am confident that I can glue the cylinder head disc back in place once I get hold of a top quality, silicone-friendly strong adhesive (probably CT-1).
