Gaining girth

I think I really need to get a better idea of what’s possible with pumping before adding anything like clamping. I’ve been pumping for about a month and it’s already taking me past the newbie gains, so I’m hesitant to break something that doesn’t need fixing. Happy to hear out more slight adjustments I can make to my routine that will promote girth gains.

Your girth goals based on your current size are realistic, difficult but not impossible. I personally started with a mid shaft erect circumference of 4 3/4” and now I’m 6 3/8” - 6 1/2” depending on my level of arousal and if I pump or not.

While I believe pumping is beneficial in making girth gains, it’s not completely adequate. If you consider the penile anatomy and it’s structure and how an erection is achieved you would know that girth circumference is predicated on how much blood your penis can hold. So the question becomes how can I get my penis to fill with more blood?

Since the Corpus Cavernosum, sponge like chambers of erectile tissue with a mass of tiny vessels that fill with blood during an erection are primarily responsible for your girth circumference, what’s the best way to get them to enlarge and hold more blood? Pumping is definitely going to force expansion and force more blood into the tissue. However there’s a sheath of fibrous connective tissue surrounding the Corpus Cavernosum. It’s the Tunica Albuginea, and it contains three layers of connective tissue, one of which is pretty tough stuff. Logically you must stretch that Tunica in order for the Corpus Cavernosum to expand beyond it’s natural size.

This is where I believe hand stretching / jelqing and weight hanging will work synergistically together with pumping to target both the Tunica and the Cavernosum. One particular weight hanging exercise that will dramatically stretch the Tunica is the “Bundle” hang. While I can’t post any links to tutorial videos or photos on how to most effectively stretch the Tunica, I would advise for your to implement aggressive twists while doing your hand stretching and jelqing.
Start with only 1/2 twist while you pull on your penis. Twist in each direction and hold for a count of 10. Do ten reps on each side. As you progress and the 1/2 twist doesn’t feel nearly as strenuous as it originally did, you can increase the twist to 3/4 turn and then eventually a full 360* turn. After your hand stretching Bundle session, then follow up with your pump routine.

Personally I would love to get to a mid-shaft circumference of 7”
Based on all the conversations I’ve had with my wife and all her female friends, girth is the thing they all love the most. Length is over-rated! Especially when it becomes painful for the woman. As my wife has said …. “when you bang that cervix it hurts, and it’s game over”.

Your wife likes your fat girth? It’s not too painful?

She loves it…. says it makes her feel full.

Dr. Richard Howard on Girth

I was curious about what Dr. Ric thought of my observations, so I sent him an email basically asking him what his thoughts on the most effective ways to gain girth, this was his reply….

I may have a thought or two on girth gains.

This is also what I found regarding the size of the cylinder, generally it should be no more than 1/4 inch in diameter wider and your erect diameter, such would tend to minimize unproductive edema and bloating. Let’s say for convenience sake if your erect diameter is 1.5 inches, usually by cylinder 1.75 inches.

Agreed, regarding the combination of weight hanging and vacuum pumping. Both exercises should probably or even definitely not be done at the same time. One would have to work out a routine similar to bodybuilding where you have a plan A plan B and cycle
.
Vacuum pumping is always been a grey area unless you do it precisely right. After pumping for decades the only pumping that really worked alone was the pulse pump, just like the one you have. Other methods would involve base squeezes in combination with the (pulse) pump. But the pulse pump on its own really does nice and predictable job particularly according to a particular protocol.

Therefore it is an integration of both hanging, particularly the bundle stretch, and the proper pumping technique, which is somewhat of an open question, and I expect that a number of men have probably gained by static pumping if they do it right possibly with adding manual exercises to reinforce/complement. But both are definitely better.

Agreed, the bundle stretch productive effect on the Tunica is undeniable. Therefore, I gladly concur.

For the time being, I can’t get much past 100mm (4in?) Hg without feeling pain, so I’m going to ride that out for a while. Also, given that I’m around 5" at the base, I’m pretty sure the 2" cylinder (over 6" circumference) is plenty of space for me!

20 minutes in one sitting. My experience with pumping seems to indicate that breaking up a pump session into segments reduces the total expansion. So four 5 minute sessions is not equal to 20 minutes of unbroken pumping. A sustained non-intermittent pumping session seems to be better for gains than a segmented intermittent pumping session, but I’m not absolutely certain about this.

It’s been a very long time since I was a newbie and I did jelqing and clamping before I got my first penis pump. But I think 100 mmHg (3.94 inHg) shouldn’t be causing significant pain for even an unconditioned penis, though I don’t have any experience to back that.

I would double check that the gauge you are using is accurate and that other things which can cause pain while pumping aren’t the cause. Pumping without lube can cause pain in the cylinder as the sides of the cylinder can pull on the skin. A lack of skin or tight junctions of skin such as just under the glans can cause pain, but these should be resolved by pumping over time. If you move the cylinder back and forth while pumping when you have significant edema it can cause the skin to split and be painful, but that shouldn’t be the case here. Also the scrotum being pulled into the cylinder can cause pain, but that painful feeling should feel as if it’s emanating from the testes or abdominal cavity, not the penis.

4 inHg is an adequate vacuum pressure, in my experience, to produce gains over time. If 5 inHg causes pain, I would continue with a lower vacuum pressure that isn’t painful. A huge part of a successful PE routine is the ease of doing it. The easier it is, the more consistently it will be done.

A 2" tube allows for a maximum expansion of 6.28" circumference. Though it’s geometrically possible to have a shaft that is less than 6.28" circumference not fit in a 2" round tube since the penis is not perfectly cylindrical. If your penis was more than 2 inches wide, which is unlikely with 5" circumference since the depth of the penis would be around .5" deep (assuming block geometry), I imagine you could feel some pain from the penis being reshaped to being cylindrical, due to discrete stresses in the CC trabeculae. I experienced some pain I attribute to this from switching from a larger diameter tube to a smaller diameter tube in the past.

The reshaping of the penis cross section from triangular to circular seems to be inevitable when packing a cylindrical tube. I suspect when the goal size is reached and pumping is discontinued the penis trabeculae will undergo remodeling and return to a natural shape. If not there are elliptical tubes that might restore the natural shape.

Starting: 7"bplx5.2" 2017 (shrunk from disuse)(originally 8"bplx4.5", gained to 9"bplx6")

Current: 9.0"bplx6.125" 2020

Goal: 11.5"bplx7" 2021.

Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful reply! Do you think the jelqing and stretching described in the OP is sufficient to target the Tunica and CC for girth expansion, or do you think it is essential to add twisting and/or bundle hanging? I think I would be more open to starting with the manual exercise before introducing a new mechanical one (hanging). I’m also not sure I have the time or privacy to hang.

I’ve managed to get up to 5 inHg today without any major problems, so I think I am on my way.

To be clear, it was never "significant pain", but just enough to make me back off as I am terrified of pumping injuries and I have had a tendency to overdo PE in the past. I want to say that the pain was mostly in the head, which was the first thing that maxed out the 1.75" cylinder, so maybe that is once again getting the bulk of expansion for some reason…??

When I use higher vacuum levels there is too much pull in the length direction to allow my girth to expand. When I back off to 3-4 hg it allows for girth expansion. Now because the pressure is low it requires time and heat. I worked my way up to 40 minutes. I’ll release vacuum to 1 and kegel in fresh blood a few times during a set. When I’m done I will jelq for a few minutes then edge while clamped to try to stay in the expanded state for a longer period of time.

Have you made gains from this. I ran something similar and my unit shrank in girth. Then I panicked and thought my dick needed a little more rest so stepped back then my girth went to day-one size : roughly 0.3 inches of girth. Gone. And because I was not probably hanging often enough I lost 0.25 inches in Lenght as well due likely to tougher pelvic and ligs that never reached plastic deformation because I didn’t hit them hard and often enough.

I’m one confused son of a gun right now when it comes to dick matters. I know now too many changes can make a dick disappear
