Theraband Wrap
I have been researching on the site for answers towards hanging with Theraband as a wrap. But while searching I have some questions still that have gone unanswered.
1.) What type of Theraband do you buy starting off? I know Theraband comes in various colors for various resistance. But what color do you choose? Do you go by progress when you go up in weight? For example say your hanging 5lbs do you buy the black Theraband that elongates to 10.2lbs or do you just buy the Red one which elongates to 5.5lbs. It’s confusing me because I read someone using the Silver Theraband which can elongate to 15.3lbs but he never described if it was the only Theraband he used or if he used other colors beforehand.
2.) How much Theraband are you supposed to cut? I’ve been reading many individuals including Blink’s post regarding hanging that they have used a piece of sweater. They cut the sweater in 6in while others chose 8in. But no one specified the length of how much to cut the Theraband. Which I take it I’m supposed to cut an equal amount to the sweater size? I rather not assume and ask a question than not and experience the negative.
3.) How many uses do you get out of one piece of Theraband? Some have said you can use one piece of Theraband multiple times, others say that you should throw it out after each session. I’m just asking as Theraband does cost $40+ on Amazon for a 25 yard roll. So before I just go an purchase anything, I rather know how many uses I will get out of one piece.
This is not a question pertaining to the above but I normally use Athletic Wrap first when hanging followed by a sleeve. Now that I’ll be using Theraband, would it be wiser to first wrap in Theraband followed by the Athletic Tape to secure the Theraband and follow that with an Ace Bandage? Or would the wiser way be Theraband than Athletic Tape followed by Silicone sleeve and than hang? I rather be secure and protected than the opposite; if someone suggested to me, Theraband and the Athletic Tape is fine than I’ll stick with that.
Thank you to ahead of time for reading this post and to replying to it.
