Thanks for the insight. At what weight did you start noticing your gains? What weight are you hanging now?

I’m trying to figure how much weight to go up to. I’m at about 7lbs now and I’m trying to get up to 2+hrs/day of hang time if I can. I must say though, that I haven’t reached that time goal as of yet. I’m hoping with school, i can use study time as hang time.

I warm up with a wet hot face towel prior to sets, and heat with the rice sock for the first half of the sets. I hang 20 minutes sets x 3. OTS on the right side of my head because my steel cord was/is tighter on the left side. The rope does not rest on my shoulder, I have it going over the bottom portion of the rail for my stairs. If that makes sense, and I sit on the couch not a chair. The rear of the couch is in front of the stairs. 2 or 3 sessions a day, so an actual total hang time of about 2 hours. I do 100 jelqs after each session.

8works: I hang 10 lbs, and the fatigue is Ridiculous and it stays that way. So I don’t raise the weight until that changes. I’ve only been hanging about 2 weeks this go round, but I previously hung for years off and on and.nothing. For once, I am really looking forward to school starting so I can hang and read at the same time too. It’s going to work out perfectly. I do wear a penimaster, but haven’t as much lately due to a new position at work, and I don’t feel comfortable enough to wear it in that dept yet.

Also, I refuse to change anything hoping for more gains. So.my boys are irritated with me because I refuse to go to the gym now, because I don’t want any muscles to take away the protein that could be used for my unit. This is probably over kill, but I’m not taking any chances. Because I definitely don’t maintain a balanced diet. But I continue to take a little bit of protein supplement.

That’s great news T—rex, how many years had you been hanging without heat? I find it definitely helps but I don’t have my own place so can’t really use the microwave to heat up my rice sock every 20 mins…I might start using a cloth soaked in hot water though, just to provide a little extra heat between sets. So you hang for about 14 hours a week? I struggle to get in 10 which I guess is why I am still only able to hang 5.5 lbs :-s

Hey take it easy T-Rex. Don’t want to loose those gains. I have been gaining from hanging and I haven’t gone over 4 lbs yet. I also do the newbie routine though including intense stretching. So far an inch or a little under it. Haven’t measured since my four month mark. Will measure again in September as that will be my half year mark. Hoping to read a clear 7 inches but we will see.

Marinera I was wondering if you knew any of the other hanging positions that specifically target the tunica besides OTS or Saiyan can answer it too. Thanks.

Any position will target the tunica. The difference is how much ligs are targeted too. Generally speaking, SD or SO are the best positions. Keep in mind that positions who target the ligs are also targeting the tougher part of tunica, the dorsal side.

What about fulcrum hanging? Does that target just the tunica? The tough part like SD and SO?

The most reliable way is a decon-break. Very low tension for prolonged period of times seems to decrease the strength of connective tissue too, but I think it would be hard to not use too much force before or after.
