Anyone else hanging well over 10 pounds?

Anyone else hanging well over 10 pounds?

I have always taken weight increases slowly. I started with 2.5 pounds, and added 2.5 lbs every 120 sets. I’ve been hanging about 2 years, and gained just over a half inch. About a month ago I moved up to 15 lbs, and I noticed that I got accustomed to this weight much more quickly than usual. This makes sense to me logically, because each 2.5 lb increase is a smaller percentage increase (e.g. 2.5 to 5 is 100% increase, yet 10 to 12.5 was only a 25% increase). So after 20 sets I felt ready to move up to 17.5 from 15, and I did, the first time I’ve done so without waiting the full 120 sets.

I’m listening to my body, and it feels like it was the right thing to do. That said, a lot of men on here seem to prefer to keep weights very low. I never hang more than one twenty minute set per day, so the weight isn’t very intense. My eq is as strong as ever, and I now have that familiar “good feeling” soreness back. I plan to start going by feel from now on, though I don’t regret taking things so slowly until now, because my penis has gotten conditioned very well by my old way of increasing. I know objectively that nearing 20 pounds seems like a lot to hang off a penis, yet I also know objectively that to a layman on the street, hanging just about any amount of weight from the penis probably sounds like a ton.

I’m just curious if any of you fellas are also getting into weights near 20 lbs or more, and how you’ve been gaining.

I’m not hanging that heavy yet. 11# is the most I have ever hung after four months of hanging, and now I’m back at it after a long break and I am up to about 10# after two months. These weights feel heavy to me and I go by feel - when I don’t feel a certain level of discomfort due to the stretch, I increase weight. I hang, on average, six sets per day. I have gained about 1.25” in about 7 cumulative months of hanging and I’m measuring again today.

I provide those examples as a counterpoint to your own. I’m not saying my experience is typical, but generally most people do not gain much if they only hang 20 minutes per day with low (relative to tissue strength) weights. Some “hardcore” hangers have apparently achieved good gains with a single set per day, but the weights they use are very relatively heavy.

So I think your new approach will be more productive, and maybe consider adding more sets.

Roots

Roots, I appreciate your appraisal of my plan and agree with your sentiments. I only do one set per day because I initially did several per day and got some discoloration. I’m very fairskinned so discoloration on my penis is very noticeable. I still have some but spacing it out in this manner seems to help avoid it. Also, my wrapping technique takes me about 10 minutes prior to hanging too, so each additional set would add another 15 minutes or so of downtime factoring in recovering/massaging after the set to restore blood flow so it’s unlikely I’ll add more.

Also, like you say, I think with less sets more weight makes sense, but I’m glad I’ve taken it slow until now because it’s forced me to perfect my wrapping technique and get conditioned slowly. My early wrapping techniques never would have lasted this long, but with my current technique I think I could potentially ramp up to double the weight I’m using now without issue. This might actually allow me to do multiple sets without discoloration, but I haven’t tested that out and I like the once-per-day ritual. I hang straight up laying on the bed and placing the weight over my beds headboard, so it’s not a great position for doing reading or things like that, thus it’s borderline wasted time, though the longer penis is certainly motivating. I also do girth work as well so I think ramping up the weights rather than time is the way to go for me.

By the way, I didn’t really mean for this threa to be about me, though I certainly appreciate your input and much of what you said applies to all hangers. I just find that within the forums most of the time when higher weights are brought up, it’s more in a “Some guys have even gone as high as ____ pounds!” sentiment, as though it’s something unimaginable and extreme, when really after hanging a few years, high weights make sense to me logically and after all this time hanging isn’t really something I consider dangerous if eased into very slowly and with proper precaution. I understand though that much of that is intended to protect newbies, which has merit, but it’s fair to say those of us with a great deal of experience can have slightly different yet frank conversations about attempting things that we would never advise a newbie to try.

To eliminate, or at least mitigate hanging discoloration, do firegoat rolls after every hanging session.

Leave your wrap on between sets to eliminate the extra time.

What way are you wrapping that takes ten minutes?

The headboard thing is a really good, creative idea. Nice thinking!

And I agree with you about the discussion of absolute weights. Hanging can be one of the safest PE practices if the practitioner has some small modicum of respect for the fact that he is hanging weights from his cock. That does not mean that taking it slow and responsibly has some arbitrary upper limit for weight. If you are hanging 30 pounds at some angle after three years because the gains haven’t stopped and you have responsibly worked up to that level, well I’m sure that is very reasonable.

Roots

Can’t see the pictures yet, but I think those will get taken down. ;)

Anyway, sounds like you are doing well and finding what works for you. I don’t think there is some hard upper limit for anyone, things will slow down, but you can keep on lengthening/expanding those tissues.

Oh yep, looks like that happened while I was writing that reply. Ignore me everyone. ;)

Before I stopped around June, I was up to 30 pounds. I just hung my first set since June and started at 15.

Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

Pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before, but there’s a movie on netflicks and damn if I can’t remember the name of it. But this guy proposes to his girlfriend at a baseball game and she turns him down. This is a documentary by the way, it really happened. So later he tells him it’s because he has a small penis and he travels the world looking for a solution. Anyway, in some Asian country he happens upon a sort of karate dojo for dick exercises and one dude in there legit lifted 300+ pounds with his cock. It was only for a few seconds though. But still, that’s crazy.

Oh it was called Unhung Hero.

He is a filmmaker and the proposal was faked and done to promote the movie/documentary. ;)
Interestingly these guys hang high weights but it doesnt mean they get longer which shows that time under tension is very important. Or you end up with “just” a tough dick.

The movie sounds like Love and Basketball + Kung Fu (the series) + PE. I’m gonna have to watch it.

If this is what I’m thinking of, the guys that do it attach the heavy shit with a ribbon or strap wrapped up their shafts in both directions in a cross-cross pattern all the way up and around the balls/root to spread the load over a greater area and anchor it to the much larger root. A good system for picking weights up with your dick, not a good system for producing length gains.

I worked up to 25 lbs but strangely, didn’t seem to gain anything. I quit for a while and started with 5 lbs again, now at 7.5 and it seems good.

Most of my gains came using less than 10 lbs.

I just got my Malehanger in the mail and retired my sock hanger, but I’m up to 15lbs, but if your doing 17.5 thats awesome you should be at 20lbs in no time!
