That Murphy was a clever guy

That Murphy was a clever guy

One of Murphy’s laws says that an expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less. Not saying I’m an expert, far from it, but as I’ve gained in pe knowledge I’ve also gained in confusion.

Some examples:

The threads about supplement use, examining the ones that possibly could help pe and the ones that could possibly hinder pe, are very interesting and make sense—-theoretically. Yet many gainers don’t do anything special and even have been taking a ‘hindering’ supplement or more. So where does that leave us?

Wadzilla recently had a very interesting thread where he asked a good gainer friend his routine. It was a moderate basic heat, jelq and stretch routine that he had applied progression to. Wad believes his friend’s gains may have stopped when he spilt the routine into twice a day, instead of once. Anytime Wad makes an observation, I pay attention and I did this time. However, there are those here that do split up their routine and make good gains. Why is this so?

There are those that never gained until they hung at maximum weight, and there are those that gained good from moderate weight. The maximum weight drawback theory goes that this could cause gains to be much tougher in the long run. Yet is that truly a drawback if deconditioning works? You got to do what you got to do. There are a few who have gained with light weights. Amazing how there can be so much variation in the amount of weights. We’re not all exactly the same of course, but good grief, some gain at 5 lbs and some need 25 lbs?

I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

I’m about to do a routine that may go against general wisdom. I suppose this has been done before, but I don’t recall having read it. Concerning Wad’s recent thread speaking to his good gainer friend, I posted in that thread that I was going to combine heat, jelqing and hanging in a progressive manner once a day 7 days a week. The last couple of weeks I’ve been doing that, but I’ve run into an annoying snag—-After soaking in hot water, I then jelq (and had been adding one stroke per day) and then finish up by hanging. The problem is that after jelqing my dick is swollen up and when I apply the hanger it reacts to the weight and the swelling goes down quite a bit. This means the hanger slips a bit, and even if it stays attached fairly good, I figure it’s mainly just pulling skin then. I then have to take everything loose and start over.

So because of this happening, I’ve decided to try something that very well may not work, but what the heck, I’m game to see, and it’ll certainly make things less time consuming and practical if it does. I’m going to continue once a day 7 days a week, but the jelqing and hanging will be alternated. In other words, I’m going to heat and jelq on one day and then the next day I’m going to heat and hang (and afterwards wrap in stretched position), and then the next day heat and jelq, etc. Progressing upward with the jelqing strokes, and progressing upward with the hanging weight (if possible, as I intend to just use what feels moderate).

Anyway, I feel that this routine will be attacking the tunica 7 days a week, but still it is at an uneven constant—-(?). The ligs only every other day, and this is where I’m especially going against general wisdom I think. I’ll report back to this thread in 2 months.

Edit: Thanks, I see it was moved to the proper forum.

The only true conclusion you can draw from reading these forums is that you should try different things, stick to things as long as they work, then try new things.

All the information here is anecdotal: “I had these results, after I did this.” Anecdotal evidence is better than nothing, if you experiment yourself, but is scientifically very weak. First, there is little if any control of variables. Second, it does not take into account individual variability. Third, there is little chance to compare methods: is my “forceful” and “80% erect” the same as your “forceful” and “80% erect”?

This is why doctors are correct to say, “There’s no scientific evidence that PE works,” since there has been no scientific (controlled, repeatable, peer-reviewed etc.) study. (Of course, neither can doctors claim that PE does not work.)

Start: 6.3 x 5.2 (Feb '05)

Now: 7.9 x 5.65 (gain 1.6 x 0.45) - SFL 8.6"

Goal: 8.5 x 6.0 - Currently trying: jelqing, fulcrum hanging/bending. My data - Progress log

True lars.

However, there are doctors that claim pe doesn’t work, ignoring anecdotal that in numbers does carry weight. Anectotal can show us some trends, but are not very good for variable comparison, as you pointed out.

I think we can say that consistency in working at pe has been found to be a key, but even that isn’t absolute, as Shiver uses a routine, and gains from, that involves deconditioning on a regular basis. It’s a consistency of a different nature, I suppose it could be viewed as. Progression is another factor I believe makes much sense, but I think we pretty much thought this from the get go.

When general wisdom doesn’t work it is always wise to try something on your own. The only factor amongst the big gainers that I have paid attention to is dedication. I try not to get bogged down on the how many’s and what kind, at the end of the day it is all a matter of how much you want a bigger dick. If you know the basics, then it must be followed by determination, the end result will be dictated on how well you are in harmony with yourself.

Yes, dedication.

I wonder if all big gainers have been obsessed with size matters? To compare, on the other side of the crowd are those that don’t put much emphasis on size at all, and perhaps I’m mistaken, but it has seemed to me they don’t put much effort into pe, and don’t stay around for very long for even a light routine to eventually perhaps add up to good gains. The big gainers’ obsession rides them through slowed/stopped gains, while those with no obsession often just give up, and say the heck with it, when nothing is happening.

BTW, hitting the ligs only every other day bugged me enough to cause me to change the timing of the routine today. I heated and jelqed this morning, but rather than wait until tomorrow to heat and hang, I did so this evening. Doing both jelqing and hanging in the same day doubles the time put in and hopefully speeds up results, if they are to be had. The ligs are hit every day, instead of every other day, so that concern I had is taken care of.
