Correlation between logs and gains

Hey all,

Do you find that keeping a log helps you stay on track which translates into greater gains? If yes, why? If no, why not?

It seems that regardless of the log method, the people here have seen small/medium gains. Perhaps all of the big gainers are hanging out in the Progress Reports/Personal Routines fourm. :)

The big flaw in your poll, tug, is that you do not quantify “small/medium” & “large” gains.

A link to Size’s PE Data Site might be nice too. You could extrapolate an answer to your question by dumping the data there into a spreadsheet…

Large is > 3/4” gain

The PE size database is quite a monster! Rather than dumping all of that data (perhaps there’s an easier way to extract it) into a spreadsheet, a poll may reveal a general feel among the active posters.

I disagree with your qualification of small/medium gains: most guys, should they practice PE faithfully for a year, will gain an inch, with most guys experiencing a “Newbie Pop” after about 90 days. wangchung and Tube are the culprits who analyzed the data from Size’s Data Site. Both analyses are consistent in showing about 1” gained in one year for those who persevere.

Furthermore, I think that your term “small/medium” gains is prejudicial: many guys here suffer from a distorted body image, and will tend to downplay their gains, especially if they are not logging them in any way.
