The reports I read discussing the Lifestyles study said that 25% of the men were unable to achieve an erection, rather than a change of mind.

On another note, the company was not as much concerned about length, as they were girth. Length is a secondary issue when one is discussing condoms. Short condoms are not a common problem; however, too thin, or, damn it, too girthy condoms are more of a serious issue. The condom company was very interested in finding out how many men were under 4.5” in girth (17%), so that they could try selling to an otherwise ignored segment of the male population.

There was a survey done in Brazil, from which the lifestyle survey was modelled (if I remember correctly), and the results were very similar, though the condom company had a higher participant pool.

Normally, every size survey I’ve seen gave a description of their measuring techniques, and it’s usually:
(1) standing (as opposed to sitting)
(2) NBP (usually they say to lightly place it at the point where the penis exits the body)
(3) If the penis is angled upward, they say to hold it parallel to floor
(4) Lining up the ruler/index card with the centerline of the penis

And girth is generally “at the thickest point” (as opposed to our usual “midshaft” measurements).

Seriously though, I vaguely recall seeing this later and was perplex myself how his was now below mine. Not fully understanding computers and servers, I just puzzled over it for a moment and moved on. Thinking a bit more about it now, obviously I saw his post first and replied to it, so somehow his got moved below mine. Looking at his post I see my quote doesn’t contain his attached file. I wish the researchers just for once, would qualify the BPEL NBPEL issue by saying something like “the measuring device used exerted a 1lb force toward the pubic bone to average out the differences between narrow bastards and double bellies”.
