Why do we have to be 18 to access to this site?

I read a lot of threads recently and I can see that many of you would have liked to have started PE younger (by younger I mean less than 18 years old). I personnally think that light PE might be good for teenagers, a lot of youths would be mature enough to start PE at 16 years old. If you can drive a car alone, why couldn’t you do PE?

Every adult content site is 18+ no matter, but some here our under 18. ;-)

You are correct Jack, and when we find the ones under 18, they are put on hold, or banned until their 18th birthday. Its the rules. Like them or not.

sunny A day without sunshine is like a day without laughter :sun:

Only a very small percentage of the population on planet earth are allowed to drive a car when they are 16 years old. Also relatively small amount of people are allowed to have sex at that age. In most countries, the limit for one to purchase liquor or cigarettes is 18 or 21. These limitations are often based on at which age people generally are responsiple enough to be granted that right. The same goes here. Penis enlargement exercises can be dangerous. Especially dangerous to the weaker bodies of minors, in relation to adults. If driving, sex, smoking or drinking would be safe, I’m sure there would be no age restrictions.

"Be aware that there are several schools of thought here as well. Some seem to go with the hard and heavy approach. The sessions are brutal. You can hear them talking to their dick: You better grow mofo or I will punish you even harder tomorrow! Others seem to favor a more tender approach. Always listening to what their member is saying while massaging it gently and singing to it with a soft voice. If it is moody and not happy with new behavior, they always listen and are very understanding."

I agree with your general sentiment. Why can Americans fight and die for their country at 18, but not legally drink until 21? Or why can they legally buy a rifle or shotgun at 18, but not a handgun or even handgun ammunition until 21?

The answer to why certain things aren’t allowed on the forum comes in three parts: TOS/AUP, liability and Thunder’s good sense.

Terms of Service, aka Acceptable User Policy, are the terms of what is allowed per the contract with the server host.

Liability. Like it or not, at 18 in America one becomes an “adult.” Potential legal issues could arise if forum membership were open to “children.”

Thunder’s good sense: If Thunder could set whatever guidelines he wants, completely unfettered by any laws, contracts or legal concerns, I’m sure he would still choose to maintain a minimum age for membership. I don’t know what that age would be. Piss him off enough and he might bump it up to 50 to weed most of us out.

Isn’t this ridiculous? Your typical 18 year old could shoot the hell out of a person with a shotgun in a moment of rage or excitement. Ever tried hitting a target with a handgun in a pickle? It ain’t easy. It seems as if safety were a concern, the shotgun would be the one on hold until 21.

Maybe it has something to do with the handgun being more fashionable and popular amongst our younger gun-toting fellows. I dunno.

One part of me says “People since 16 should be allowed to read this”

But the other part tells me “A lot of mistakes could be done, wheter temporal or permanent, so that is a big NO to younger people”

I tried to leave this alone, but it just isn’t within me to do so.

Rights are not given, granted, nor subject to any government’s whims. They exist permanently and in perpetuity for all individuals. Those in charge at any given time may not recognize them, but the failure of the king to recognize one’s rights doesn’t negate their existence.

When you find yourself seeking permission from some authority to do something it’s time to reevaluate how free you actually are.

Would you rather have a 16 year old, that is not a member reading this, and performing PE by what he reads without asking questions. OR A 16 year old member that reads and ask questions and performs PE a little more knowledged then the first?

It doesn’t matter whether you feel like the people under 18 should have the benefit of joining or not just to make sure they do things like they should. The simple fact is that you can’t allow them to join as long as you have adult content. I am very sure that people are members here that are under 18 but you still cannot openly allow it to happen. Sure most people under 18 that go to an adult site can easily click that they agree to the terms and conditions of the site saying that they are over 18. It does not take much to lie about it. Honestly by the two posts you have made in this thread I am starting to question your age but I have no proof. I guess the site has to take your word for it that you are over 18. Anyway the point is you can’t regardless of how you feel.

I tried to start a discussion about this… I tried several different ways, but I still came to the same conclusion: What is your point?

This is purely semantics, isn’t it? This has no real value as an argument, does it?

In the end, the only thing that is free, is our will. The freedom of choice. That’s a fact and we can’t help it. If there wouldn’t be a system to limit our freedom, there would be anarchy and chaos. The way the system limits our freedom, I call limiting rights. You have no right to take somone’s life, you have no right to tresspass, you have no right to steal someone’s car, you have no right to purchase alcohol before 18 years of age and you DEFINITELY have no right to enter Thunder’s Place before you are atleast 18 years young. :chuckle:

All in the name of good fun, ofcourse. :)

In general age limits are set to protect minors. It is unfortunate that no matter what the topic, thundersplace, drinking, shooting, that society cannot make a case by case decision. I have met some teenagers that were very responsible, and on the flip side I have met ‘adults’ who I wouldn’t trust to cross the street alone. However since we as a society cannot make a case by case decision in each matter for each person, all we can do is select an age that is generally acceptable.

Hobby, it is interesting that you focused on the word granted, my minds eye gravitated to the word responsible, because of the aforementioned cases in which some minors are more responsible than their adult counterparts.

In a perfect world or nirvana or stranded on a desert island maybe but the reality of the here and now is that no one has complete and unfettered freedom. People are either controlled by social norms or governed by norms that society has deemed important enough to codify as law.

Hobby, lets take for example several of the actions referred to in this post already: membership at thunders, drinking alcohol, driving a car and shooting a pistol. Do all people, regardless of age, have the right permanently to engage in any of these whenever they want? However they want? I would ask you, when you drive do you stop at stop signs? Do you follow the speed limit? If so howcome?

For extra credit: Can anyone name at least one place in the United States that it is legal for 18 year olds to drink???

I agree 100%, I guess I just tend to take the side of the younger ones as most of us here wish we found this when we we’re much younger. Thats why in my first post I clearly stated that all adult content no matter the site or way it is intended to be used (porn, informative, etc.) it is 18+ always has been and always will be like it or not.

And to ThunderSS no it’s not, but hopefully having a bigger dick will help boost our confidence and make it a little better, Thanks for the great forums you provide.

Base, one of my buttons is the common misconception that people have no intrinsic rights, only whatever privileges are granted by their government. My post didn’t apply directly to the situation here, but it did address your response. I’m fond of this quote:

“There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences.” — P.J. O’Rourke

Getting back more directly to the main topic, Jack makes a good point. So does Thunder. In an ideal world we could lower the age limit, maybe to 15 or 16, or allow minors to join with parental consent.
