Warming UpWarming Down

Warming UpWarming Down

I have been PEing for about 3 weeks, recently taking 1.5 weeks off to switch to the linear newbie routine. Here are my thoughts and questions on the warm up/warm down:

I have been using the hot-towel-wrap method for warming up/warming down. However, since I usually do PE right before or right after a shower, I have been using the shower as a substitute for either the warm up or warm down. The showers are hot, but not exceedingly hot. I still use the washcloth while in the shower, letting it soak up the reasonably-hot water and wrapping it around my unit and gently massaging it.

For my remaining warm up/ warm down I use the wrap method out of the shower. At first I took the advice of using the hottest water possible without burning myself, but have since found that using a slightly-less-intense heat is more soothing and seems to be beneficial. The gentle massaging while the washcloth is wrapped helps as well. I must admit, this method is tedious because of the need to re-wet the washcloth every 30-60 seconds.so you can’t really do it anywhere but a bathroom if you wish to be inconspicuous.

In my short experience, WARMING UP / WARMING DOWN IS ESSENTIAL. There was one night that I warmed up in the shower, did some manual stretching, and then had to leave to go out to dinner with my family so I didn’t get a chance to warm down. My unit felt uncomfortably sore and I could feel that it was uncomfortably turtling. This was the ONLY time I felt an uncomfortable soreness in my unit. When I got back home I made sure to warm down properly.

Taking into account the importance of warming down, I am confused: When I finish jelqing I am pretty thick and long due to the increased blood flow. It feels good having my unit this way, since that is the goal after all. But when I warm down with the wash cloth, my penis retracts to a slightly below average state (although that sounds misleading, because my flaccid size can vary so much that this “slightly below average state” is not uncommon to me). I don’t believe it’s turtling since it is the same sort of retraction that my unit experiences after jacking off.

I switched to the linear newbie routine starting today, and it would appear that after the warm down my unit retracted even more than usual. But this is probably due to the fact that I just started PE again today after a week and a half break.

I don’t really feel I was over training my unit during my first 3 weeks using the regular newbie routine. I’ll have to see what happens now that I’m doing the linear routine. I wonder if it hasn’t been long enough (3-4 weeks is really short on the vast scale of PE) to tell if the slight retraction is just my unit getting used to the PE. In any case, half of me feels tempted to minimize my warm down routine, because of how thick and filled-out my penis feels after jelqing. But I also know how crucial the warm down can be. Perhaps I should try not warming down just to see how my penis responds to the jelqing? (To see if it remains thick for awhile or goes away right away).

I know this was quite long, so if you’ve read this far I appreciate it. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts. It would be very nice to be able to minimize that retraction both after warming down and after jacking off.

Hmmm, to be honest I wouldn’t ever attempt a PE session without a warm up and warm down. As I’m sure you are aware heat causes expansion in general, which is what we want. After a mild or rigorous PE workout your dong is going to be in shock as it is being taken to a place it’s not comfortable with and after all that stretching and increased blood flow from jelqing what else can it do but retract and heal? Maybe the warming down isn’t as important as the warming up but I think it is more helpful than not.

The way I look at it is: after pulling and squeezing my unit, the tissue and muscles are going to retract and tighten and heat is probably the best option for relaxing these, and again we obviously want expansion don’t we? Maybe the retraction you get when you warm down is due to going from a hot temperature to a colder room temperature suddenly? Just a thought.

I personally don’t warm down too much. I PE late at night when everyone in my house is asleep, so it really gives me a chance to experiment with different things, and lately I have found that a 5 minute warmup followed by my exercises for the day and ending with a quick shower is working best for a nice flaccid hang after my jelqs. Also, I’ve started wrapping a small hair band around the base of my dick while it’s still gorged from all the jelqing. It pushes a lot of blood into the shaft, and I leave it on for about an hour after my workout while doing kegels in a pair of sweatpants. I’ve noticed that I stay pretty plumped while doing this, and this home made warm down has greatly improved my flaccid stats, my flaccid is hanging so low, man, it feels as if I have an enormous dick sometimes by just looking at my flaccid hang! Best part is that a good amount of the hang passes onto the next day and I’m just love how it feels when my slacks rub up against my low hanging head, or watching my glans outline across my pants when I’m going commando. :-)

The shower is very fast, no more than a few minutes of quick soapy water while doing my kegels, and I’m out of the shower and enjoying my gains. God bless

Thanks for all of the feedback guys,

Yeah I suppose that SOME retraction has to be natural, it’s necessary when putting your unit under conditions it is not normally in. I totally agree with you ollabac, I absolutely love the feeling of having a good flaccid hang all day. Thinking about it now, I believe that I retain more of my “post-jelq engorgement” when I use a shower as my WARM DOWN. I’ll have to test that out over the next few sessions.

On another weird note.I started the linear routine yesterday, and experienced an abnormal amount of actual turtling. I gave myself all today to rest and am STILL experiencing it. Strange, because I was coming from the regular newbie routine, which encompassed a lot more of a work out. Perhaps without realizing it, I simply did those 5 stretches and 20 jelqs a little too hard than I should have, because mentally I feel 3 weeks in (but in reality, I have to ease into it since I took a week off). That, and I jumped into a large amount of kegels yesterday. I am experiencing very slight aching, which I don’t think is a problem. But I think I am going to wait for my unit to return back to somewhat of a normal state to begin the routine again.

Hey Deville410!

A little retraction is normal, don’t worry about it. Considering the warming question - warming up is very beneficial, if not essential. But warming down isn’t.

If you want a good flaccid, try cooling down. Yes, that’s cooling down. Try this: next time you finish your shower, take the penis and stretch it straight out. Now, put your shower to cold and apply to penis for some thirty seconds or a minute. I do this not only on my penis, but on my whole body because it’s healthy. But it helped me out with the retraction thing.

I like this idea. As it’s not really clamping and not too strenuous, would this be safe for someone that’s only got a months PE experience?

Very interesting. Is this assuming that the shower is after my jelq session (so the shower would be the partial warm down)? Or is this just after any shower in general?

Re-asking this question about the rubber band.
