Traction v Hanging - is the advice contradictory

I’m confused..

Hanging seems to advocate the suspension of progressively larger weight over time whilst traction devices such as the Jes extender advocate minimal tension aka weight for long periods.

Seeing as they both accentuate length, should we be striving for an increase in weight / traction forces with a traction based device?


Yes and no. I believe the goal with a traction device is to find your sweet spot. One should always have a sort of ache indicating it is being stretched.
