Hey so, this is the way I’ve been measuring but due some factors happening its making me doubt myself, and my measurements. I’ve put on weight lately and I’m very high body fat. Must be in the 30’s likely, somewhere in there. Standing up right now, flaccid with a little bit of blood, putting the ruler directly above the base of my penis, touching the top shaft and pushing in as hard as I can to the pubic bone, normally just sitting on top, was 11CM. Pushed in all the way, it was 15CM. That seems enormous, and honestly, it does hurt. I think part of the reason is just because I am fat and have a pretty big fat pad atm, it hurts to push through all the fat to the pubic bone.

But I’ve been wondering if this is cheating, perhaps I’m pushing in at the wrong point? The higher up I go on my pad, the less it pushes it, to the point where it pushes in the most directly above/touching my penis at that point with the ruler. It had me in a panic attack feeling like, maybe that deep point directly above my penis isn’t real, maybe its 1 inch up, and I’ve been lying to myself this entire time and I need to take 1.5-2Cm of my length.

Anyone got any idea’s?

Sounds like you have it about right. But I agree you can get some different readings depending on the exact point. If you use the ruler vertically, it averages out some of these variables.

It also makes a difference if standing or sitting.

So, the most important thing is consistency in measurement. Afterall, it’s not the absolute number that is important, is the ability to recognise and monitor change.

I agree that measuring in a consistent way is most important. We are looking to measure growth or progress. IMO the actual number is less important than tracking progress.


Began (1/9/2023) BPEL 6.175” x MSEG 4.875”

Current (2/23/2024) BPEL 7.6” x MSEG 5.375”. Goal BPEL 8.0” x MSEG 6.0”

I have read in the forum that the ruler should be held in a vertical position as opposed to a horizontal position to avoid the ruler from slipping under the pubic bone.

When I began this technique I lost about a quarter inch of length, but it’s probably the best method.

I’ve kinda just always used a tape measure and the same tape measure. I think if you are going to use the tape measure then be sure to do it the same way everytime.
