I have a question about night/morning wood. I very rarely wake up with it.if I do it’s generally only like 40-50% erect but it’s constantly fluctuating. How important is it to wake up with a raging hardon each morning? I can get an erection to a decent level but I still don’t seem to wake up with one. Have had blood tests and nothing is wrong with me. Can mood effect the morning wood at all? Finally if I can’t really observe it as an indicator how should I go about assessing how my routines are affecting my unit?

Do you have erectile issues other than the lack of morning wood? If not, it is entirely possible that it just fades away before you realize it is there. Everybody gets erections while they are sleeping, and that is what morning wood is, but it’s not like you should have a raging hard on the entire time you are sleeping, it goes in cycles. If you wake up at a different part of the cycle, then your erection could be fading.

Whats your routine? How long have you been doing PE? What was the quality of your erections before PE?

You just might be over doing it!

As a registered sleep tech working in sleep I can offer you a simple explanation. We get erections during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. This stage is most commonly known as the stage of sleep when

dreams occur. If you are waking up before your last and longest REM period which usually occurs before dawn and can last up to an hour, then your absent wood could be an indication of sleep deprivation or sleep fragmentation. Some medications including many antidepressants work to reduce REM so this is one possible explanation. You might also have sleep apnea which will fragment your sleep (often much more so in REM). This could be minimizing your REM percentage thereby interfering with your ability to achieve a rock-hard erection. If you are concerned ask your physician to refer you for an overnight sleep study at a reputable sleep disorders clinic. Please understand this is simply a possible exlanation. There are other factors to consider. I hope this helps.

Something I am going to experiment with because I have issues with morning wood is to read more porn stories. Perhaps this will help. Other advice I have been given is to stop watching porn and masturbating. Best of luck.

You might find that morning erections come in phases - I’ve noticed this for myself at least. There will be phases where it seems like I don’t get morning wood for months and then suddenly I’ll start getting them all the time. I think I’ve correlated exercise and healthy eating to the quality of my erections however. More exercise/healthy eating = better wood. Anyone agree? Also, does anyone notice that the morning erections - while super-hard - don’t last as long as late-day erections? I’ll find that I wake up with my GF and want to get my erection into her as soon as possible, but the sex, while good, doesn’t last as long.

I was dreaming about having a big boner woke up from the dream with a big boner. Now o don’t wake with big 8” woods that often but if I focus the dream on getting a big 8” boner I wake up with one.

I’m still an on and off PE-er never got past the newbie routine.I’ve cut it down because I believe it’s too much for me (Well, sometimes it seems to be.others it doesnt).I’ve stopped watching porn, and am going to start exercising a lot more regularly.I’m currently a uni student so I party a lot and believe I may well be sleep deprived in some minor way. I suffer from anxiety and so my EQ has always been all over the place. All this is making it exceedingly difficult to find a routine that’s ‘right’ for me I have to admit!

One other point of note is that occasonally the head (and only the head) of my penis will feel cold-ish (cool) to the touch. This is in compariso with the rest of the shaft. Should I be worried? I should point out my hands are always roaring hot and sweaty.

I’ve developed my own type of exercize which I found really increases the strength of morning wood. The first time it increased, I was actually kind of shocked, but I have psychologically adjusted since then. I actually don’t know enough anatomy at this point to adaquately describe it
