Full Circumcision or Partial Circumcision?

Full Circumcision or Partial Circumcision?

Hey guys.

I have this problem that my foreskin is too big and it covers half of my glans/head when erect. I can roll it back but then it gathers at the base and I can’t roll on condoms. The doctor suggested circumcision but I wanted Partial Circumcision so only part of my foreskin gets removed.

I mentioned that I want my frenullum kept intact. He agreed.

So what should I do? Full circumcision with frenullum intact or Partial Circumcision with frenullum kept intact and part of the foreskin left. Argument your answer please.

If you had circumcision, please tell me what changed and if you regret or not your decision.

iDare

In your position, I would opt for a partial. I am uncut, and not complaining about it all as I think the fact I’ve avoided Keritization of the head is a good thing. Assuming you have this amount of excess, a partial would leave you with enough to cover the head when flaccid, no? Sounds like a win to me.

Short of having massive infections all the time I would never get circumcised if I was uncut (I was circumcised at birth). Being circumcised you do loose sensitivity.. Those who have it done as adults don’t see it immediately, but after a decade or two of the head exposed it definitely loses some sensation.

I don’t exactly understand your issue with your foreskin. Is it only the issue of putting a condom on? Does it bother you that it covers the head when erect? Although I don’t have experience with it as I’m circumcised, as I understand it when putting on a condom uncut guys should roll the skin back and roll the condom on, then roll the skin forward again with the condom, the finish rolling the condom down. The condom should just follow the rolling motion of your skin.

If it’s more of a personal preference or you feel you don’t like it then it’s certainly your call to make. Personally, I would not get even a partial circumcision.. Most circumcised guys wanting their foreskin back dream of having erect coverage of the head.

How would you know, if you were circumcised at birth? I was circumcised as an adult, 25 years ago.

The pleasure isn’t decreased. Intensity of orgasm is exactly the same, as is the build up to it. If you imagine boiling 2 pots of water, one over a big flame and one over a 10% smaller flame, they both go through the same temperature ranges, and they both end up boiling - one just takes 10% longer to do it.

If the ‘foreskin fairy’ visited me and said I could have my foreskin back, I’d say ‘no thanks’. I enjoyed having a foreskin, but on balance I prefer not having one.

I am circumcised, done at birth & I am very glad it was done.

However, one thing that seems to be overlooked is the fact that uncircumcised men often infect women with the HPV or Human Papiloma Virus which is responsible for cervical cancer & this same virus can cause a form of rectal cancer in gay males as well.

I really do feel that the argument about circumcision is often completely misguided & that we must look at the overall benefits regardless of ones own personal desires to reduce the incidence of STD’s as much as possible, particularly with the current multiple partner situation we have in today’s society.

I read some studies that indicates that circuncised people are more easily infected with other STDs. I didn´t know the HPV fact tough.

But, i have a question. You said that you have a problem with your foreskin beacuse it covers half of your glans. Isn´t that normal? Im not circumcised and my foreskin cover my glans completely and i never have any problems with that.

No you keep the skin back behind the glans. The condom is tight over your glans, so you can’t roll the skin back without pulling off the condom. At least, this applied to me before my adult circ.
So if your foreskin is really long, this may give you problems with condoms…
Although I think this must be really rare.

@iDare: is this the case for you?
Also, I would go for a full circumcision, as this is aesthetically the most pleasing (personal opinion).

I was circumcised at birth.

Doc did a good job, frenulum is intact and he left some extra skin. So I am really happy with it.

I’m not sure I’ve seen a partial one. Go all the way I say. I’m done and always wondered what it would be like with one but the ladies I’ve been with have always been very complementary about it.

"If you're not first, you're last!"

Well I’m obviously in the minority here. As I said firegoat, I don’t know.. That is just according to all I have read. I’m not trying to start an argument here, and I won’t participate in one if it breaks out.. But in my opinion anyone who was circumcised as an adult did so because he had a problem, physical or mental, with his foreskin.. Ergo, being circumcised is automatically better in his eyes, no? Just the same as me being circumcised as an infant and always thinking uncut must feel better, I automatically assume it is far better. I suppose it’s all in the eye of the beholder.

That being said, iDare, if you feel you would like it better circumcised then by all means do it, because in that case I’m sure you will like it better.

Well said. I am happy being cut, but I can totally appreciate the fact that others prefer not to be circumcised.
