Viagra Overview, Part II: Recreational Use

I’m not your Momma and this is not a lecture, just food for thought.

Viagra, generic Viagra, and now some generic knock-offs of new erectile drugs are available on the street and on the Net.

Men who don’t have erectile dysfunction and experience a good, normal erectile response – they already have very satisfying sex - are learning that Viagra, for example, can bump up a sex event a notch or two. Erections may be even harder. Refractory time (the period of time it takes you to get hard again after you’ve cum) may be reduced, or there may be no refractory period. And because Viagra quite often causes a degree of delay in ejaculation, or outright anorgasmia (you can’t cum for trying), they enjoy having some increased lasting power.

So long as you are sure you have no physical problem that prohibits using V and you aren’t combining V with nitrates or other potentially dangerous compounds, why not, every now and then, for a special occasion? I have no reasonable argument against that.

What is often overlooked, however, is the psychological side of using Viagra. You can get hooked on it – not addicted; V is non-addictive – but you begin to forget all the really terrific sexual experiences you’ve had in the past without Viagra and you begin to want them all to be like the one(s) you had while on Viagra. Then you use it more often and hello? You begin to think sex isn’t as much fun without Viagra, and/or you start having doubts about your own, native erectile abilities and launch yourself into the self-fulfilling prophesy of Performance Anxiety. If you don’t need Viagra, don’t then abuse it, is all I am saying.

Clubs and Events:
There can be no doubt that Ecstasy is today the Number 1 party mood enhancer, at least in the US. You can dance better (at least you think you can) and longer; most everybody around you seems to have an appealing personality and you think you can keep going until the cows come home. Then somebody wants to have sex with you and you want some sex. But you are pretty much wiped out so you pop some Viagra to compensate. You are using V as a crutch to so something that used to be easy for you. And then you need the crutch again. And the next Friday and Saturday you need it again.

I don’t expect this to be a real popular post, but here is a summary of some research that has just come out in the esteemed journal, Science:
In animal studies on monkeys and baboons, a single dose of Ecstasy sized-down to be comparable to what a party-goer might take resulted in profound neurological damage, a loss of 60-80 percent of the brain cells that transmit dopamine, a chemical which regulates body movement. (Can Parkinson’s or some other motor impairment be far behind with regular Ecstasy use?) Meanwhile, on another brain front, it is revealed that Ecstasy damages 30-40 percent of serotonin neurons. These neurons regulate mood and behavior and that may explain the “crash” often experienced after a night on Ecstasy.

This is a forum about Mens’ Sexual Health and some of you may be wondering what the heck Ecstasy has to do with sexual health. If there is indeed a link between Ecstasy and neural damage, one’s sex life can be very seriously altered if Parkinson’s disease is a fallout of Ecstasy use.

a question

OK- I have read both posts and am curious about something. Why do so many guys without ED use Viagra? Does it make you that much harder? Can you last significantly longer? I am just trying to understand the motivation behind why non-ED guys are using this so much. Thanks :)

What I am trying to get at is the DEGREE to which this stuff makes sex better. It must be pretty significant I would think :)

It is, but I take it because I need it. Better if the guys who don’t need it and use it answer your question.

2in2002,

I too started taking it because I needed it but I can give you some insight.

1. You don’t have to be as horny. My ex wasn’t very good in bed so I just didn’t have the desire as much. with viagra you don’t really have to be in the mood (imagine that hehe) Stimulation produces erection. Your erection is not as dependent on the mind.

2. You can go much longer. going for an hour is effortless (atleast for me) and If you want to go for 2nds it is much much easier. Viagra also let me have multiple orgasms without stopping.

3. Maybe a minor thing but after Viagra I also had more morning wood even after only using 1/4 of a 100mg tablet.

Tip.
Splitting pills into equal parts can be hard. Take a razor blade and peel off the blue “skin” and then procede to chop the pill up and then keep choping and crushing it with a razor blade til it’s a powder. Then you can divide it into as many equal piles as you want. Take it under the tounge or snort it up your nose, works great.

I have sex every morning (almost, probably 25 to 27 days per month) with no drugs. So why use V or C? Because I last longer and feel a little harder. I am in my mid 40’s now, so I do notice a difference compared with when I was in my 20’s. I get hard, but if I stop thrusting or stimulating in some way, it gets softer much faster than it used to. With V, I can stand at attention without even touching it. So once in a while I take 25 or 50 mg of V and I fuck my wife better because I can thrust the way she wants me to, rather than sometimes having to move in a way that keeps me stimulated. In other words, if she wants it fast and hard, I just do it. Without the drug, the pace might not feel good enough for me to keep going. The other thing is that I can definitely hold my orgasm back better with viagra. The extra control, for me, is a better benefit than the extra hardness. So a normal morning for me might be 7 minutes of intercourse, and with 25 mg of V I might have 12 minutes and it will be more energetic, faster paced sex.

Cialis is nice because it lasts so long, and there have been times I have taken V in anticipation of sex, but not gotten any so it just goes to waste. Cialis does not make my dick as hard as v, nor does it give me the orgasmic control. So I like them both, even though I do not have ED, and I hope that helps to answer your question.

I’m currently taking Cialis (used to take Viagra) for medical reasons, even though I’m a young guy (21. I hadn’t even thought about how V or C effect lasting longer until mentioned here.. Now that I think about it.. Hmmm. Can anyone else who has taken both compare..

Hardness of Erection effect
Orgasmic Control effect
How long the above 2 last..

Both V and C tend to give me a killer headache, but it’s worth it. Perhaps I’ll head back to V.

Vitamins V,C, and V+C, and E

I’ve done them all,and Levitra as well, (just once, feebie from the Doctor)though it didn’t seem nearly as good as V or C.

V gives a harder, on demand erections for a shorter time, (hours, not days) and orgasm control too, esp in conjunction with several, but not too many alcoholic drinks. (For me, fast blower).

V is OK if you’ve got a date and session time lined up, but notmuch good if it’s not yet organised. “C IS the weekend V”, as they say in all the spam that I get.

I have done C plus 50 mg V for a sex party and it didn’t have the fabulous effect I wanted and needed AT ALL. Seemed to be a “fizzer”, in fact.

No headaches.

But I do need these things to maintain my erection. Can almost always get one, but not maintain it, esp at condom putting on time.

And anal sex is more demanding of a good, hard erection at the start as the rings of muscle are tighter.

I have been known to do at “Vitamin E” for Sydney’s world famous gay dance parties at least 2 per party, 3x or 4x per year for near 20 years, and V and C are a godsend for the highly (mentally) sexed period following. But come down mood isn’t pretty, as Avocet says. All my friends do too. It’s great for Lesbians. No ED, problems and all that loving to do!!!

BUT WHERE ARE THE GUYS WHO USE V and C, and L WHO DON’T HAVE “ED” of ANY SORT?

I use Viagra for my girth routines. Rarely for sex, as I dont feel I need it for sex. Although, I do occasionally use it if I really wanna “rock” a girl’s world. I can ejaculate and stay hard with the V…for as long as I want to. I use it for my girth routines because I can spend 99% of my girth sessions focusing on the exercises, instead of on trying to stay erect enough.

50mg does the trick for me whether for PE, or sex.

I had a fun experience with viagra the other morning that might help to explain why I would like it even though I do not have ED.

I was fucking my wife very hard and was not getting the urge to come, which is the best thing about Viagra IMO, although this effect varies.

She was very aroused from all this fucking and then got on top. I started pressing on her clit with my thumb and I happened to get just the right spot with the right pressure. She sat very still while I pressed, and for about 10 minutes her body shook with one orgasm after another. I was inside her the whole time, and stayed rock hard, even though she was not moving her hips or giving my penis any significant amount of stimulation.

Of course watching her sit on me and come while playing with her clit was very arousing and I may have stayed hard anyway, but it was nice to know I was juiced up with viagra because if I had to thrust at all, it would have broken her concentration and string of orgasms.

She was exausted after about 10 minutes of this, but I could have laid there rock hard for the rest of the day.

Since you’re talking about Ricaurte’s research, you should be aware that he had to publish a retraction on that paper in the esteemed journal Science.

I had more to say, but a browser crash ate my first response, and I don’t feel like typing it all out again. Suffice to say, Ecstasy does not cause Parkinson’s. The worst thing known with certainty is that long-term use causes depression.

Sorry, I thought you knew. I realized Ricaurte was probably the researcher from whom the conclusions you mentioned were drawn, because he is one of the most vocal and widely seen anti-MDMA researchers in the news, and he is also the only one (in recent history) to publicly suggest a link between MDMA, dopamine and Parkinson’s. Even other governmentally-financed researchers were unable to come up with same toxicity levels Ricaurte did for MDMA and dopamine neurons, and the reason was because he gave the monkeys tremendous doses of methamphetamine instead, which is known to have an excitotoxic effect on dopamine neurons. Ecstasy primarily effects only serotonergic neurons and has little effect on dopaminergic neurons. This was also why he was forced to retract his paper.

After a little searching, I was able to find the 60-80 percent figure as also coming from Ricaurte, so that’s almost certainly where your figures are drawn from.

Ecstasy does not lead to Parkinson’s. Heavy use does lead to depression, however. For anyone who’s taking it, and wishes to limit the damage, follow these rules. Do not take multiple doses in one night. Do not take it more frequently than every 2 weeks. Make sure you are well-hydrated and take an antioxidant beforehand. And best of all, if you have access to an SSRI antidepressant (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, etc.), take one a couple hours after you take the E, when you start to come down.

Avo is right I have noticed that more and more guys are using Viagra and the other chemicals when they don’t have to myself included. Shit I love the stuff it makes me feel 18 again when a breeze gave me a hard-on I also like being able to stay hard after I cum. I do find I use it more than I did and if I didn’t control myself I could easily use it all the time because even though I don’t need to take it to have sex it makes the whole experience a lot better for me. It just puts me in another place during sex where all the problems of the day are pushed aside and their is only one thing and that’s pure animal sex where just the smell of pussy is a enough to get me rock hard.
