Low sex drive putting a strain on relationship

Low sex drive putting a strain on relationship

I hope some of you can help me on this, because nothing seems to work other than giving myself injections of testosterone.

I have an abnormally low sex drive. I don’t know why. I’m only 25, I’m in very good health (I work out 5 days/wk). My stress isn’t bad. I get a decent amount of sleep. And, the last time I had my testosterone checked (about two years ago), it was normal. I don’t understand, and I refuse to believe it is simply the way I am.

In the past I’ve taken testosterone and it has worked. And, the more I’ve taken the higher my sex drive was. At one point, I was taking 600mg/wk. It was then that my sex drive was such that I wanted to get it on with my fiance’ at least once per day, sometimes more. I’d like to return to such a level of libido.

So, all that being said, do any of you guys out there have any suggestions or advice?… anything aside from the testosterone? The testosterone is expensive and I simply can’t afford it all of the time. There MUST be something else I can do.

Though, my fiance’ loves me and I love her more than anything, this state of low libido sometimes puts a strain on my relationship with her. The longer her and I go without having sex, the greater the strain becomes. Any ideas, suggestions, or advice any of you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to do is go in for another blood draw, asking your doctor to not only ask the lab for T and “Free” T values, but your whole hormonal panel. Just as with women, if one element is out of whack in guys, the whole run of dominos can fall as a result. You may not even need testosterone, but you need to determine this.

Get those results, go from there. Meanwhile, ask your fiancée to be patient or get some erectile drug samples from your doctor. Libido or not, they may give you both a physical and a psychological lift. A lot of us feel hornier on Viagra than not on it.

Amen to avocet8. Additionally, if you’re working out and are a subscriber of low fat diet, beware that testosterone is made of fats. You need Essential fatty acids in your diet, and instead of being afraid to cut out fat, just lower your carb and reduce your sugar intake to about zero. There are some otc things you can buy on line like 6oxo and novedex, but they are also expensive. Some clinics, and even very good chiropractors do “bio identical” hormone replacement, but it’s expensive too and not usually covered by insurance.

If you work out, add amino acid pills before or after your workout. L-arginine increases blood flow through muscles and will do the same for penis. Take about 2000 mg after a workout, and at bed time. It’s relatively cheap. It doesn’t increase libido, but it does help maximize blood flow/erections.

Also try Yohimbe bark in form of capsules. It DOES help with libido, if you have the precursors in place. Do a search on line. If you workout, do no more than 3 days weight training, and keep a couple of days for cardio to increase oxygenation, thus increasing fat burning, calorie burning, and speeding up the whole process, including hormone production. If you lift weights, DON’T skip doing legs. The large muscle groups are the ones that produce the most testosterone for the body, so that muscle mass can be retained.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted. You are now a lab rat and I want to know what works and what doesn’t.

Cheers,
Buff

Thanks guys. I’ll look into those things. I appreciate your time and advice. I’ll keep you posted.

If your SHBG is high, I know nutritional tricks to lower it. You might want to consider taking DHEA. And make sure to eat plenty of saturated and monounsaturated fats.

what are these nutritional tricks you refer to?

I too have been on T replacement and have recently dropped it for Tongat ALI. It is a natural herb, that has been proven to increase T naturally and especially libido. The balls atrophy from T quickly recovers also. It’s great for me and I doubt I will return to taking the test again.

25 and you’re already engaged to be married? Yikes.

I think I have the cure… Start dating different woman. That will definitely make your cock stand at attention :D

Avoiding bad carbs, eating protein at every meal and taking ZMA will help keep SHBG low.
