I don’t know whether circumcised or natural guys last longer. But really - do you find it that difficult to wash your dick?

And regarding STDs, you need to wear a condom either way. Circumcision does not change that.

I agree, but it can be a cultural preconception which I think is one of the main reasons my parents had me circumcised in the first place. Some men lack basic hygiene skills and give the others a bad name. In some societies, foreskin=dirty - you never know what smegmatic nastiness may be lurking beneath it …. It’s a cultural thing that I think my parents bought into. Also, my father was circumcised - like father, like son.

Oh right, smegma. They say uncuts tend to have more infections due to smegma. There should be some study about that somewhere.

Completely agree about condoms, but oral sex is what concerns me. I’d hate to get herpes or worse, HIV, but I would also hate to give up unprotected oral sex.

There is no doubt that you can get herpes from unprotected oral sex, circumcised or not.

HIV is debatable. Most sources I’ve read say that it’s not transmittitable through saliva, but is it really worth the risk?

I guess it depends entirely on how hot the girl is. LoL

Otherwise, get tested or wear a rubber.

I’m against it.

Therein lies the problem about circumsizing infants. You may be happy your parents made this decision for you, but many people are not. But once it is done as a baby, you no longer have a say in the matter.

I do not believe there is any other elective surgery that is done to babies, besides circumcision. It is in a class all its own.

If you want to get it done as an adult, go for it. But as parents, taking that option away — and the right to remain unbutchered! — by having your baby operated on is 100% wrong.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Well life is full of risks, I’m just trying to quantify as accurately as possible those that may or may not be a concern to me. I have no problem taking some sexual risks, but I want to know ahead of time exactly what the chances are.

Circumcision isn’t a means to significatively reduce risks of sexual infections, that’s what fellas are suggesting.

I was lasting WAY too long before restoration. My wife would come 4 or 5 times but was literally rubbed raw and wouldn’t want to have sex again for like a week. Since restoring we can go as long as she likes, but when we’re ready to be done I just sort of let go. Also, she was never able to give me an orgasm orally before, while now she can easily.

If you don’t like the scent or cleanliness of intact genitals I can’t argue with that. I have a sweet musky scent now. I just don’t know why I should need to be any more un-naturally fresh than I would ask a female to be. I’m in a marriage so it’s always easy to swab off before sex. There is nothing unhygienic or unhealthy about intact genitals kept clean by nothing more than the flushing action of urine, but stinky armpits are natural too, and that doesn’t stop me from washing and using deodorant.

I would never consider getting cut to thwart STDs. There is NO STD that is prevented by circumcision. The mostly-cut US has higher rates of just about every kind of STD than non-circumcising nordic countries have.

Quite true, but restoring lets the nerves that are left work a lot better because the protected mucosal skin gets more shear to track more subtle sensations. Restoring also gives whole new modes of stimulation due to the skin slinking frictionlessly over the glans. My wife can now force my skin over my glans and plunge her tongue between the skin and glans and swirl around, tickling two surfaces at once. Tickling or gumming the puckered up end of the skin tube is also wild. And of course my wife loves the plush full frictionless feeling of slinky slack inside here.

There are several guys at LPSG.org who have shared progress photos of the healing after adult circumcision. It seems easy enough to endure; like vasectomy.

Do a Google for “circumcision damage” to see how bad childhood circ can get. The stuff you’ll see mostly manifests at puberty and is almost never counted in a stat on circumcision complications.

Agreed. Just did a quick calculation of my chances of getting HIV, given unprotected insertive oral sex, and various other factors (location, ethnicity of women who I mostly have sex with, assumption that 80% of women who have HIV and know they do would tell me beforehand, etc) and it came out to 1/5727500 per act, and that’s assuming I have no screening process whatsoever. This is also given I’m not circumcised (I conservatively doubled the estimated rate of circumcised transmission). Clearly circumcision isn’t going to make a difference in an already nonexistent risk. I’m not sure about other stds but I will do more calculations later.

The problem with stats like this is that it is impossible to tell when “your number will come up”. Will it be time #5,727,499 or will it be time #16? While it is generally accepted that oral sex, especially for the recipient, is relatively “low” risk, it is not however, “no” risk. Although rare, cases of HIV acquired by oral sex do exist. Obviously, selecting partners who maintain good oral hygiene and making sure that your penis is in top shape when engaging in this activity will lessen the danger of transmission even further. As has been said previously, life is full of risks - we need to gauge the risk/reward ratio realistically without becoming too entangled or obsessed with the details. Be vigilant and control the risks, don’t allow them to control you.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, pretty much sums up my philosophy also.
