Where do I start, basically I have come to believe that my EQ problem doesn’t have anything to do with my dick but rather is a result of poor masturbation practice. I started masturbating around 10 years old, I had a sexual dream about a girl in my class and when I woke up I found that squeezing my flaccid dick in between my legs felt good. Some time later I would have my first orgasm in my friends house using this method and thinking about the dream. For the next 9 years I would masturbate using almost only this method. I masturbated a lot and the good thing about this method was that it was discreet and convenient, I could literally masturbate anywhere and anytime which I did. I would masturbate in class, in the library in a room full of people and once immediately after an exam. Looking back its very creepy but unluckily enough I never got caught. The really bad thing about this method was that it required me to be flaccid, so when ever I got turned on I would wait or distract my mind till my erection subsided then masturbate. As you can imagine this would have disastrous consequences on the way my body reacted in sexual situations.

I remember the first time I got head, I was about 16 and we had been kissing and touching and I had a semi but immediately she put her lips around my dick it literally shrunk in her mouth. You cant imagine the horror and shame I felt in that moment, especially considering that I had spent the previous night hard as fuck fantasizing about the experience. Combine this bad habit with a voracious appetite for porn and my eq was basically non-existent for a while.

For the past year i have stopped using this method mostly because of pe and having to edge a lot and my eq has improved. I get very hard quickly and can stay hard as long as my dick gets physical contact but take this away and it subsides in seconds. I know I am in a better position than I was before, I know habits can be broken and I know I am only 20 and still young enough to fix my mistakes. What I don’t know is how long it is going to take and the thought that I will never be able to have spontaneous sex is wrecking my mind. If anyone has any suggestions to speed up the process or any miracles under your sleeve please tell, I am very open to doing anything to fix this.

Yh I know porn has also contributed and I am working on cutting it out, I am currently slightly over two weeks into not watching porn and I feel determined to follow through this time. I also have failsafes in place.

Yes I am currently aiming for three months at the least as I have heard that the one month to three months range is the hardest part and where most people struggle.

Do you have any ideas on my other situation though or you do you feel like overcoming porn will be enough to see the change I am looking for?

One thing that doesn’t work, from my experience, is reverting to non-porn images. Those tame bikini shots in the tabloids whet your appetite. Plus, I’d argue that they are porn, too.

Honestly, willpower and cold turkey is the only way.

It is funny that you should say this because the way I am going about it right now is abstaining completely but then if I get the urge to watch I have to wait till Friday and can only use hentai comics. You are right in that they make me want to watch real porn even more but at the same time I would have already bust my nut.

I agree that porn is a major detractor of reality and real relationships. Not sure I will ever give it up or want to, however, I do realize that it can distort the mind and social experiences. Knowing and understanding is part of the equation.

I know what you mean, working from home I usually end up watching porn and rubbing one out 2-3 times a day. Of course in the bed room my EQ suffers. Most of the time there are no issues, but sometimes my head just isn’t in the game. #dadjoke. I have tried the last couple days to promise myself NO JACKING OFF!. Eventually I get a tingle, then I convince myself to just edge a little and ill stop. Of course that doesn’t end well. I mean it does end well, but not what I promised. Its a difficult thing to overcome especially when you get bored. Maybe some advise is to not let your mind get bored, keep busy, especially when you are alone. Then again you see how well that is working for me. I have made yet another promise that I will abstain from both until the wife is off her period. Fingers crossed.

Porn will definitely mess up your brain with regards to your erections. Whenever I chat with or work personally with a guy in resolving their porn induced ED the hardest part is breaking free of the addiction. Once you do that, then you need to go a certain amount of time of not masturbating. As part of the techniques I use in helping guys is to just let the erections happen naturally before I allow them to begin touching themselves. Just a few suggestions for you to think about.
